Just curious?

So am I. I was wondering if Christians believe that God destroys churches and kills children with tornadoes. Apparently they do.

Do you believe the sun exists when it's 2 am? You can't see it or feel it's light/heat? But you've experienced it and know it's there.

Try to explain the sun to someone who has never left a cave.

Why are you so miserable? You got married like two weeks ago and you're on here trolling a bunch of southerners about God and the weather.

I have a God of my understanding, and I don't understand Him.

Finally an honest response in this thread.

Just curious? I don't believe in unicorns but then I don't spend all of my time trying to find them so that I can tell people that I can't find them.......

Probably has something to do with the fact that unicorns aren't used as an excuse for crimes against humanity, social oppression, intellectual oppression, etc. What a stupid analogy.

Personally I believe God controls all the good things about weather. Rainy days when the plants are thirsty. Sunny Saturdays when you want to enjoy a day outside. But he definitely doesnt control hurricanes and tornadoes.

But we live in a closed-loop zero sum system. Rainy days in one place happen because other places are dry (they gave up their moisture to create the rain). Sunny days are sunny because somewhere else is cloudy. Hurricanes happen when various systems that benefit various places converge and combine their energies.

Not belittling the notion that God controls the weather, but I don't see how you can claim he controls good weather but not bad weather. Weather is just weather - it's inherently neither good nor evil. Either he controls all of it or none of it.

I made the point. Because I like you I'll reply.

Are you asking whether or not Christians believe God controls the weather?

Or are you asking believers if YOU should put your faith and belief in a God that may or may not allow really bad and tragic things to happen to innocent and good people?

(I believe that God loves you whether you believe in Him or not)
