Do you think God controls the weather?

Or does he/she just kind of put things in motion and then sit back and let it happen?

But honestly, mainstream Christianity believes in an omnipotent and omniscient God, so by default he's in charge of the weather. I suppose in Catholicism they have the Saints of this and that, so God could delegate stuff in that system.

If God exists, the laws of physics that govern the universe also govern the weather. Fluid dynamics, thermodynamics, heat and mass transport, ect.

I'm just curious how many people are creationists here, and if they believe the earth is about 6,000 years old?

I'll bite. If you believe in an omnipotent God, six day creation is definitely on the table since.... he's fricking God, if he wants to create a billion year old looking planet in 6 days, then sure. If you don't then it's kinda ridiculous.

Oceans control the weather.
Do you think God controls the oceans?

quote:
Job’s ten children died because “a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people” (Job 1:19).
Job cries out to God, “Why have you made me your mark? . . . Why do you hide your face and count me as your enemy? . . . Why do the wicked live, reach old age, and grow mighty in power?” (Job 7:20; 13:24; 21:7).
quote:
“The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord” (Job 1:21).

Short answer: yes.
Long answer: As more of the natural world came to be explainable in purely rational terms, the human view of what was under the control of God inappropriately shrunk. But the answer to the question "Is there a supernatural world?" isn't "yes" or "no." For there is no supernatural or natural world. There is only the explained and the unexplained.

God made weather so we could check out all the hot weather broads on the news. Beyond that I doubt he gives a frick.

Oh dear god. Guess he's causing global warming too. God doesn't like polar bears. Damn sinners.
