Meh. I served in the Army as well. I've never owned a gun and never will but it's absurd to try to disarm an entire population in a country the size of the US.

It's not like the criminals are going to stop owning them so why take them out of the hands of law abiding citizens?

The only people armed should never be criminals and the government. Not in a country like this. That's a recipe for disaster.

3 pellet guns.
2 12 gauges
1 30-06
2 .22s

I have them for hunting alone.

I like my second amendment rights but see no reason to have an arsenal.

Since you served in the Army I'm sure you understand the reasoning behind the 2nd amendment and why we have it. So serious question...why do you think the public shouldn't be able to own any guns?

Do you have that much faith in police to be able to keep criminals at bay and people don't need to protect themselves? Do you have that much faith that our government would never become tyrannical if the people weren't armed as a deterrent to protect our individual freedoms?

Because in this day and age owning a gun would stop the government from taking your freedoms. I get what you are saying but the idea that US citizens owning guns prevents the US from doing anything is funny.

I disagree, but not much. It is somewhat of a deterrent on some levels

A better argument for personal defense firearms would be that police don't protect you against criminal activity. They only react to criminal activity.

What kind of ammo do you like to use in the judge? Loved using my old one as a snake charmer using 4-10 shells.

The Bureau of Land Management has announced it will stop the roundup of cattle owned by rancher Cliven Bundy.

This argument is funny. Obviously the Government does some shitty things and is overreaching at times, but it's really not that bad in the grand scheme of things.

My point is if you disarmed the people what is stopping a radical regime, like similar to the Nazis, from taking hold and completely disregarding the Constitution and our rights and try to rule with an iron fist and punish anyone who questions their authority.

The 2nd amendment prevents that from happening because the people respect the ideals on which we were founded upon, and many in the military share the same ideals and some would fight alongside the people if such a thing were to ever happen. The people armed + some of the military who would dissent = victory.

A people unarmed and a split military fighting each other plus the Government agencies could result in a loss.

There are over 80 million gun owners in this country compared to approx. 3 million military members.

I use it almost exclusively as a snake gun when I'm doing yard work, so I mostly use 410 bird shot rounds.

When it's not helping me with yard work, though, I keep it hidden in a convenient place in the house and keep it loaded with Winchester 410 PDX1 rounds, which are 410 shells specifically made for personal defense.

Just for giggles I have some .45 Colt rounds, but they are not practical. The kick from those howitzer shells is pretty amazing.

3 .270s, pump/bolt action, semi auto

1 .243 bolt action

2 12 gauges, pump/ semi auto

2 20 gauge pumps

1 45-70 (scoped, pretty much unfair for primitive weapons season)
