I am so glad I'm not the only one that hasn't made a single dollar in the field I got my degree in. If I had only known I'd have gotten it in basket weaving or recreational studies.

grew up in and around Baton Rouge. LSU fan my entire life. My dad taught at LSU and pushed me into college out of high school but I wasnt't ready for college and did not make it through even one semester. Ended up with a degree in mathematics from UCF.

I am actually a current student at Ole Miss. Going into my junior year and am studying Chemical Engineering with a minor in Spanish.

Hoping to be able to come out of college on the right foot and start my working career well.

Graduated from A&M with B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2013 and now work in BR. Currently making $83k but get PE in July so that number will go up. I believe any engineering degree is going to be making a good salary right out of college. I wouldn't be too pushy about salary now. The more technical experience you get the higher salary you can command.

I agree with getting the MBA as that is my plan as well, but I'm gunna wait for a couple more years to get more technical experience. Don't want to jump in the management route too quickly.

Actually you go off letter, but you are correct, "s" is spelled with an E so "an" is correct.

French and Chinese are more popular.

Don't waste your credit hours on that bullshite.

Both are really easy to speak.

Spanish is pretty much a dead language.

Seriously? It's a game. A game where half of the players can't even legally drink yet. If you can't get along with someone because they went to a different University than you, then that's a you problem.

Wrong. Almost all of the growth at UA has come from students who have 30+ ACT scores. They come because the scholarship is so good.

I attended University of South Carolina for two years, as a mechanical engineering major with a minor in Nuclear Engineering. However, my mom got sick and currently has lung cancer so I left. I do plan on going back and finishing in the near future. I mean, I'm 22 so I have plenty of time.

Good luck. You definitely have the time just get the precious time in with family while you can. That's always first priority.

From Houston but went to and graduated (apparently you have to say that when LSU comes into the discussion ) from LSU. Interesting takes from people on this board so far. Question begs, do you have to be a graduate from your respective university to be a fan? I wouldn't think so. Just go to Alabama and you'll see tons who are sidewalk fans - most of which didn't even graduate HS.

Graduated from two SEC schools. One degree is worth a lot more than the other.

Are there anyone with a computer engineering degree. My son is leaning towards that. He enjoys the coding part. Is it worth it? What the job market like?

I really never understood the sidewalk fan thing on here as a put down, I'm actually happy we have them, every 15 dollar licensed T-shirt or any other Alabama licensed items is revenue for my university.

@ Op hang in there bud, find a company that will allow you to grow and network. Also find yourself a good financial advisor/broker/lawyer spend your money wisely. I lived square in middle of Silicon valley in Sunnyvale/Mountain view area off El Camino Blvd in California for about 4 years. 110k a year will get you a nice apartment there honestly. 90k you're doing very well in the southern states, don't forget to travel before you settle down and good luck to you.
