Being a good person doesn't make you good at your job.

Don't think anyone here is saying he did it on purpose. I'm saying he's too quick to pull his gun in inappropriate situations.

Did you miss the no charges filed part? Grand juries aren't made up of cops.

I think there's a problem because if the cop had physically beat a man in handcuffs that would have looked really bad as well.

There's literally no way to win in this situation.

If he kicked him in the ribs and broken a few? The headline would read: Cop Breaks Ribs of Handcuffed Man.

Nothing changes with the addition of a gun -- protests and lawsuits all around.

The next step in the use of force rung after taser is gun. They'd already tried the taser. Being in cuffs doesn't have shite to do with it.

He was a big dude behaving in a "usual" manner. Therefore he should have been escorted and handled by several and in cuffs leg irons and belly chains. If the cops had followed a reasonable protocol this would've never happened.

If he hadn't broken the law this would have never happened.

I'm with you, I'm just saying that no matter what the cops did it would have looked bad.

"Can't restrain a man in cuffs without beating him? What a bunch of pussies."

"Tased a man in cuffs? Cops gonna cop."

"Shot a man in cuffs? Execution."

Cops literally can't win in any given situation since they have to use justifiable force to subdue someone, and most people will see it as unjustifiable no matter what the proposition. Cuffs, no cuffs.

The poster I was replying to was a Texan. Texas would put a baby to death for not liking Rick Perry's hair.

This hea is Texas, not Florida.

Unless you're referring to us being from Florida.

I wouldn't have cared if they beat the frick out of him. The gun did no good in this situation.

Dude was high as a kite. He didn't know where he was. He didn't have enough sense to be scared of a gun.

Taser won't work? Fine. You literally just left a room full of cops. Call for back up. They'll be there in 2 seconds.

Slap some more restraints on him and VOILA!

I'm not a cop hater, but it seems obvious the gun wasn't necessary her just using regular old logic.

bullshite we kill you if you like Rick Perry's hair

I have a seriously jaded view of cops as you well know but I also know what a lot (not all) cops do when they are in those situations and most of them go overboard.

Fortunately, you represent a large portion of the United States.

Holy frick you don't? Your opinion is singular? What a revelation.

They were controlling a situation, not trying to scare him. Everyone deserves a warning.

Do you know how many people have died in "two seconds"? Ever watch a prison video where they get a hold of one of the cage kickers? A frick ton can happen in two seconds.

Conversely: I'm sure you would have responded absolutely immaculately to the situation with your vigorous training in SOP in kinetic situations.

Refer above.

Crime isn't necessary, nor is struggling.

There are certain times when cops do things to people who were minding their own business, and I feel more sympathy for them than a dude who is so fricking blitzed that he can't control himself.

If it had to happen to anyone, thankfully it was him.
