You don't think it turns people who wouldn't normally be involved in criminal activity into criminals? In some cases, violent criminals.
I think most capable of such things were always capable of it and just needed the opportunity. If not drugs, it would be something else.
You act as if nobody who has the opportunity to deal drugs has ever turned it down.

Irrelevant, those arrested are still willing to risk participation in illegal activities. If not drugs, likely something else. At best they still have questionable character.
Have you ever done anything illegal?

This is irrelevant.
Most folks have done something illegal. That can encompass anything from drug dealing to littering to fricking loitering

I break the speed limit pretty regularly
But to get to the root of your question, no I have never done anything that had I been caught would have resulted in jail time. Those selling drugs know the ramifications of getting caught and do it anyway.

We're all capable. We don't for social or financial reasons. When those barriers come down, its fairly easy.
Locking young men in prison with violent perps isn't going make them any more adaptable to society.

Go back and read his statement. Totally relevant.

I agree.

I have been reading everything both of you wrote and disagree that your query was relevant.

Im not capable of killing someone in cold blood, so thats at least one.
And if the only thing stopping you from murdering people is a law saying you will go to jail if you do, you need help IMO.

You'll eventually meet someone.

If someone molested and seriously harmed your kid, could you kill someone? Blame someone who did?

I could (and probably would) say I would kill such a person, but in reality I'd probably just let justice run its course. MAYBE if they got off on a technicality or something, but if Im honest with myself I just dont believe Im cut out for murder. The idea of killing someone outside of self defense is just too foreign to me to consider a realistic possibility.
But no, I wouldnt blame someone who killed the person who murdered their child.

I don't either but in my decades of life, it's been surprising what I found myself capable of doing, many of those things "unthinkable" when I was in my 20's.
It's amazing how my views on virtually everything, including much of what was discussed in this thread, have been changed over time due to experience or changing social norms.
