Because this isn't a thing. Small magazines don't help stop active shooters; they bring huge amounts of ammo. All it does is reduce the ability of a defender who usually just has 1-2 mags.

Well I used some common sense and gathered that Private Public was referring to the media on major television networks seeing as how they have been the more criticized form of media in recent past, at least in their dealings with mass shootings.

Whether it's racially motivated or not, major network coverage last night was pretty fricking terrible and they should be pretty embarrassed about it. Not only did they take forever to break in with the news, but I had to sit through multiple cycles of other world news just to get to any kind of coverage on the issue. At the very least, if they didn't have anyone on the ground there, they could've defaulted to coverage through their subsidiaries in Charleston who did a pretty good job.
