Yeah. I love how people try to act intelligent and say things like, "ONLY 1.4% of white Americans owned slaves!!!!" as if that number alludes to how uncommon it was.

Any intelligent person would know right off the bat that women weren't land owners and slaves were expensive. The more intelligent statistic would be what percent of white families owned slaves, and what percent of white families that didn't own slaves, wanted to accumulate wealth in order to one day own slaves?

The Liberal Democrats still do but instead of picking cotton making their masters rich, they want black people casting ballots to keep them in power and making the Liberal Elite more money.

The thing that sticks in my craw is how OBVIOUS it is that Dems are only interested in keeping black people/minorities as a monolithic voting bloc, and how readily estranged is anyone who dares deviate from the party line. It's insane.

For fun: (I didn't even know who pepe was until about 2 weeks ago. Not into it, but found some of this stuff interesting)

What does the image under the frog look like?

It looks like a person at a computer, yeah?

There's a bunch of weird coincidental stuff around pepe and Trump winning.

Agreed. It's insane. That's why Trump's, "what do you have to lose?" is such an effective message, and why it's chilling to libs. They live in a world where Republicans genuinely don't care about black people. Think about that. They think that half the country doesn't simply have a different idea on how to help the inner cities and impoverished black communities, but that they genuinely don't care. If Trump comes in with even remotely effective policies to get blacks off the Democratic Plantation, their foundation shatters.

Yup. Hoping for some progress here over the next four years.

I've lost families and friends because of my voting direction -- and I've been really open that I am a Socialist, and not of the Democratic/Egalitarian type. I voted against Hillary, not FOR Trump. I would never have him in my top ten for President, but at the very least he was better than Hillary.

It's shocking how many people call me racist (even though my girlfriend is Mexican), sexist, bigoted, transphobic, xenophobic (even though I live in Mexico) -- every single word that you can think of and all I think of is...

That's exactly why they lost, and why they'll lose reelection. The battles they're fighting, the trenches they're dying in -- bathrooms, BLM, fricking Halloween costumes. That's where their intellectual corpses stack, and at some point they need a serious change in infrastructure in American Liberalism (which is slowly roundings its way to Authoritarianism).

What a bizarre time in which Right-Wing Conservatives, Anarchists, Socialists and Libertarians can all agree on a candidate.

And that the Libertarian Party can't overcome a pussy grabbin' businessman with no political experience nor the most overtly corrupt politician we have running for president.

In my defense, I spend a lot of time dealing with them in the hopes that they don't slander Marx more than they already have. I can do little to states who have already destroyed the image beyond recognition, but at the very least I might be able to get through to a blue armpit haired lesbian.

Ditto. I honestly didn't think he'd make it through the primary, but he proved a lot of folks wrong. After he won the nomination I was scared he'd put his foot in his mouth one time too many, but his momentum was too strong

Hell, I can't even broach the topic of politics with my extended family without the ol' "uncle tom" quips coming out. The identity politics are so entrenched that it's an affront to the beliefs of modern liberals to even consider having a genuine conversation with the other side.

If there is no discourse, it's impossible for any accords to be reached.

But we live in a time where Donald Trump, who won an award from the NAACP, is immediately branded a racist bigot the instant he puts an R by his name. The absurd thing is, as far as Republicans go, he's not nearly as far right as the past few nominees But that doesn't matter when the game plan for the other side never involved genuine debate in the first place.

Damning. Both to them and to our political system. This was their election to strike and strike hard.

Go on YouTube and watch the Libertarian Party Primary Debates. They aren't ready for primetime and I don't think they ever will be at this point. Way too ideological and WAY too out of touch. I will always consider myself a libertarian at heart, but they are a failed experiment, IMO. The Tea Party elected more candidates in almost 2 years than the Libertarian Party will in 50. Gary Johnson should have been a perfect candidate. He was actually a Governor. He worked with in the system and enacted Libertarian ideology. But... he was ill suited for anything more. And that's where you're going to actually see real change for Libertarian causes. Join the Republican umbrella and stick to your ideologies and reject special interests when you get power. But the Libertarian Party is not a working framework, IMO.

I said the same thing on Facebook like a month ago and they had a meltdown. It's simply the truth, at this point. My mom has a lot of ideology that are libertarian in nature but can't bring herself to vote for one because of hardline issues. In fact, this is the year where we're seeing that hardline is not the way to go.

Trump was by far more liberal than Rubio and Cruz on immigration, Israel and even Planned Parenthood as well as Gay Marriage. I hope we see more candidates with more flexible belief structures in the future to make sure we don't have this terrible dichotomy.

This just infuriates me, because my own Cousin who I'm very close to said to me: ''White Cishet Men with mommy issues just can't bring themselves to vote for a woman past the age of breeding.''

And it's like, dude, I'm your cousin. You know I have an amazing relationship with my mother.

I've noticed that Liberals just can't help but compartmentalize people. The ones who once wanted to abandon labels (Socialists) are now the ones who posit them in any fashion that they can. There are like four descriptors from my Cousin compartmentalizing me based on things I can't change.

Sorry, because I just said the same thing but read your conversation afterward.

Trump is very, very liberal in contrast to the others on an amazing amount of issues and for PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY WATCHED THE frickING DEBATE there were some very, very uncomfortable moments when the entire crowd was completely silent because he basically took the Republican edict and wiped his arse with it.

I think Trump and his restructuring the Republican Party against their hard-line and absolutist stance on "free trade" might be one of the most radical shifts in ideology in our political history. If in 2013 you were in a Republican think tank, and you said that the Republican nominee should be anti-free trade, you'd be laughed out of the industry. Yet, as we've seen, the Republicans have shifted their rhetoric to "fair trade" and "common sense". They have taken a pragmatic and ideological approach to one of their very core ideologies. Absolutely fascinating. And it's the Libertarian Party's complete inability to do anything remotely like that which will doom them.
