Black southerners of the rant: do you find the conf natl flag offensive?

The battle flag is a lightning rod for debate and taken as offensive by a large segment of America.
But what about the confederate national flag? It isn't co-opted by the KKK, it isn't seen as a symbol of hate.
Can we mutually agree to view the southern national flag as a symbol of southern pride, white or black? And if not, what would you see as a symbol you could get behind?

I may have been born in Alabama, but I ain't a southerner. I am a naturalized Texan, therefore I exempt myself from this question.

Hood's Texans carried the Texas Flag beside the Battle Flag of the Army of Northern Virginia.

True. I don't have a problem with it, but I wouldn't fly it, and I doubt any black person would either.

Racism aside, why would you or anyone want to celebrate the flag of a crushed rebellion? It was a lost cause in the long run. That's like me wearing 2015 Sugar Bowl gear.

SA may not be part of the South. But lots of Texas is. So don't make generalizations about the southernness of Texans!
Thought we already went over this?!

For the record I don't understand the whole confederate battle flag/southern pride ideology however, your comparison made me think. You may not wear 2015 Sugar Bowl gear but you wouldn't abandon your team either. You still wear Bama gear, right? I think that is a more accurate comparison to the OP. The rebellion may be crushed but he's not abandoning his team. At least that is how I understand Southern Pride.

Which confederate national flag? There's three of them. The one that we fly in TX is fine with me. Have you even noticed that we already fly the stars and bars on lots of state and county buildings? Most people don't pay attention.

Going back to my example, why would I show my pride in Alabama by displaying a game where we lost? Why show your pride by displaying the one instance where the South lost? In the 239 years that the US has been in existence, people can't find another symbol to show Southern Pride?
The South is experiencing a major economic boom, with cities like Atlanta, Nashville, Charlotte, Greenville, Huntsville, and Birmingham on the rise. More and more people are moving down south because of the job and opportunities and the overall standard of living. Race relations are at an all time high and there truly is a sense of integration that is not felt around many parts of the country. So why not pick a symbol that unifies ALL of us, instead of a select few who hold on to the dream of a failed nation?

We did. I'm afraid your points were shot down and overruled by yours truly
Texan culture is an amalgamation that cannot be sufficiently encapsulated by the term "southern" or any other descriptor other than itself.
In short, Texas is Texas, and you must accept it

Unless they are over a gravesite or some other historical site where they belong I like to see them flying, keeps me abreast of where the dumbasses hang out. Yeah, yeah I know I am at one of those places right now but hey my BBQ is so good it must be judged.
