Please.
Vancouver is on the ocean.
And winter is different when your city is built for it.
It's also different when you get a lot of snow -- everything insulates, you adjust, it's kind of strange how it works, but it's not as bad as you'd think.
Southern Ontario -- where Toronto is located isn't bad.
Calgary is like Nashville of the north.
Awesome ski resorts.
All of British Columbia is heaven.

I am not proud of a lot of Americans though.

Hell yes.
Best country in the world.
Most freedom
Most secure nation with the most powerful military (most take for granted this...think about what it'd feel like going to bed every night wondering if some neighboring country is going to bomb your city)
Best place to raise a family
Biggest economy in the world

But the aristocrats (thanks genro) who use me/us and my country's resources to impose their will on the world, works against what I stand for and am generally proud of.

What?
It's not -20 in Canada very often.
In fact, when you live in that climate 20 degrees and sunshine is t shirt weather, or at worst a fleece.
A mid winter, 25 degree day with sunshine, and insulated snow is a beautiful and seemingly warm day.

Really.
20 degree days with sunshine can be very warm if there's no wind. You work up a sweat if you had too much on.

Cold weather blows.
I'm barefooted, putting Ice in my boat headed towards the river right now.
Your move, Canada..

I've felt more "free" in Europe and S. America.
Is it freedom of I can't walk out of the store with a 6pack and not have to put it in a sack, or go to a park and risk getting a fine if I want to have a beer?
America is a police state with the illusion of freedom.

20 degrees is not warm. Correct.
20 degrees in the sun, with no wind is warm. Especially when you're body has adjusted to a real winter climate.
Anyone that has lived in the north would understand this.
It's okay that you personally can not relate.

Incorrect. It's literally freezing

You know I live in Missouri It's not the great white north, but you know it gets plenty cold.

And our beloved 'free market' mandates that other countries sell their oil in dollars.
Oh, and if your countries leader doesn't do what we want, we'll replace them with a dictator of our choosing.

It's okay that your sensitive Texas skin can't relate.

What?
I guess all the below zero temps with 30 and 40 mile an hour winds were just an allusion when I lived in montana. And considering all the cold fronts we had came from Canada, I'd say it's colder up there. Not to mention the countless Albertans I would talk to at bars that came down because the weather and shopping (in fricking montana) was better. But yeah, Canada is warmer and better.
I don't know why I typed this all out, you did compare Calgary to nashville after all. Maybe next you'll tell us that Medecine Hat is pretty much the same as Panama City.

You said -20
-20 is not standard temperature for Canada.
I lived in Northern Ontario for a few years, I think it was -20 a couple times. Once to be certain.

20 degrees isn't warm. Warm compared to -11? Yeah. But not straight up warm. It's below freezing. shite's cold.
