No. We Texans aren't American by choice these days.

We aren't proud to be american, because we're not. We're from Texas. We're proud to be Texans.

I'm not certain, but surely tanks/bombs/politicians aren't the most cohesive form of cohabitation.

Unfortunately man will always want government and protection which breeds all kind of evil.

Yes, I guess we could all just sing kumbiah around a campfire and drop acid, but until the global drum circle starts, Pax Americana is still the best route.

Without some sort of civilization altering event, you're probably right. One can dream though. Sometimes it just feels surreal how inharmoniously mankind operates.

But you've got the right idea living in Alaska.

This is true. Being a Texan American is a rare privilege.

If you don't feel thankful/blessed/proud or whatever to be an American, it's probably because you've never been anywhere else. Once you leave, you realize just how good we have it here.

We have it pretty good but that's a bit of an over-statement. There are plenty of places in the world where the quality of life is equal to or better than what we have here. At least based on objective measures.

From what I've seen and what i know, we'll have to agree to disagree.

bullshite. I've been to Western Europe, Mexico, and Canada. The only one of those areas that we are better than is Mexico.

Most Western European countries are just as good or better as far as quality of life goes. Canada is pretty much the same.

Australia is also just as good or better.

So what you're saying is that really we are only better off than 95% of other countries? Ok cool, I'd rather live here where it's less crowded.

Didn't say that Canada is better. It's practically the same fricking country though. Only with fewer people of other ethnicities, and more guns per capita. Oh, and less warhawks.

Laughing at the idiots who think there aren't places that would be as nice or nicer to live than the US.

And laughing at people who think Canada isn't basically the same place as the US.

I mean, really, how narrow minded are you?

It's a very small percentage. Short of killing someone here in America, you can pretty much do as you please.

Canada ain't the South.. It's beautiful 3 months a year but climatic comparison also factors into the Awesomeness of America.

Anyone who has ever watched Trailer Park Boys knows that is basically cold Alabama.

All BS aside, Vancouver and Montréal are great. Just as good as parts of the US..

Must be why we're the most imprisoned nation on earth.
