what are the best dishes in these areas?
My guess would be that Missou was ranked on KC for BBQ and St Louis for beer.
I don't understand Kentucky at 9 at all, however. Bourbon and fried chicken, maybe?

My SWC is showing, but I agree with every bit of this.

I think our drive thru daiquiris stores trump anything
I have also had LA gas station boudin and meat pies that were better than stuff in other states.

Louisiana has great food. I've never known an LSU fan who couldn't cook.

you should banned and backhanded for even considering this.
there's about 5 other states that do bbq just as well as Texas. nobody does seafood better than Louisiana

lived in Georgia for over 3 years, and outside of being known for burgers, peanuts, pimento cheese, and micro-breweries, i don't see anything unique to the state of georgia for food. tennessee should absolutely be above georgia
Why? Memphis has good BBQ, ok...so what else?
There are better restaurants within a 10 mile radius of downtown Atlanta and downtown Athens that in the entire state of TN. Not to mention, GA has some pretty got damn good BBQ ourselves if you know where to look.

37. Arkansas
Tennessee has awesome food, but thats too high because other than BBQ its not native to the state.
Mississippi and South Carolina should both be much higher.

Bourbon alone ranks Kentucky up there. Sorry folks.

I would rank almost every state in in the Southeast as having better BBQ than Texas. You can find a very good steak there, however.

all Texas does is cook mexican food and call it Tex-Mex
no. there are similarities but they are distinct cuisines.

I prefer Maine lobster and Maryland crabs to anything that comes out of Louisiana. Come at me Choctaw

Clear difference between real Mexican food (like Mexico City Mexican) and tex-mex.
Unsweet tea 4 lyfe. Worst thing about going back to visit family in Louisiana or Mississippi is that if the unsweet tea option even exists at a restaurant it is only semi-sweet tea because the lazy employees never wash out the container after making sweet tea in it.
I guess to them there is no reason for the unsweet option, so why make it worth a crap? Have to live on bottled water most of the time.

Atlanta has become a mecca for up and coming chefs. one of the top cities in the nation for good cuisine , Athens has some good stuff as well, but beyond that there isnt much else
