Unless they have had Maryland crabs, no one here will understand how much better they are. I like LA food, but it's not as amazing as what people from the south LA think it is. I also would rather have apalachicola oysters than anywhere else.
Guys,
Its how the food is prepared. I like blue point oysters more than gulf ones. I like Maryland crabs more than Louisiana ones.
I would love people in Maryland to make anything remotely close to New Orleans crab cakes, crawfish etouffee, or seafood gumbo.
Its just not happening.

You eat mountain oysters?

Maryland crab cakes are 100x better than Louisiana crab cakes

Charleston alone should have South Carolina in the top 10.
If this were a ranking of cities I might agree. But Charleston alone doesn't trump whole states. I like Charleston food, but I can eat just as well - if not better - in both Athens and Atlanta.

Of course y'all Louisianans are gonna believe that y'all's seafood is the best, but this nation does seafood pretty well. Lots of folk on both coast. Lots of places that do excellent seafood. LA does have great food, but I'm not ready to concede the be all end all seafood is down on the bayou.

In 2013, the Washington Post said Bentonville's dining scene was "IN", replacing Charleston's.
LINK
Alice Walton probably threw them $50,000 to claim this. But honestly, Bentonville's dining scene is very legit, especially for a town its size.

Tito's and Shiner Bock have to move Texas up the list.

GA has some pretty got damn good BBQ ourselves if you know where to look.
Georgia has decent enough BBQ but no it is nowhere near the level of west tennessee, not even close.

Why? Memphis has good BBQ, ok...so what else?
memphis is internationally known for its BBQ, it's a pretty big deal. nashville is well known for their hot fried chicken. memphis and nashville have both also become very involved in the micro-brewery business the past 10-15 years. atlanta has good restaurants, i don't deny that, but the cuisine at most of them are not unique to the state of georgia. atlanta is just one of the bigger and wealthier cities in the country, so naturally they'll have nice restaurants. but if you asked someone from, say chicago, what georgia is known for, i doubt many people would have an answer for you. memphis is extremely famous for BBQ and have the largest BBQ competition in the world there every year. and they also have all the southern cuisine that every other state has, but BBQ is what sets it apart. the state of tennessee also has jack daniels whiskey, maybe you've heard of it, among others. east tennessee has the smokey mountain brewing company that has been around since sweetwater and longer than terrapin and others. tennessee also has a fairly well known vineyard outside of nashville (arrington)

Yeah, Louisiana food ain't frickin around. If given the option, I'd sooner eat at a good Louisiana restaurant over most anything else 7 days out of the week.

Real mexican food is about being almost experimental with meat. Like fruits with meats, mole, chili power with meats, etc. Also in real mexican food seafood is a huge part of the menu. Any authentic Mexican food place on Texas (instead of a tex-mex place) is basically mostly a seafood restaurant.
Americans can't stand all that though, we like our meats plain and simple. So tex-mex is your standard beef, chicken, pork cooked in lard and wrapped in a flour tortilla oftentimes.

That's the main issue I have with Louisiana cuisine. It tends to have too much seasoning in it. Less is better, IMO.
