agree. he lacks the elusiveness and vision that can make up for the size.

Are you basing that off of his freshman season, or have you been able to go to the preseason practices?

Thanks for the reports Jes'. When mubobby talks, I listen.
RB's are major concern.

I'm basing it on the games I've seen and also the fact that he's done virtually nothing in any of the scrimmages despite getting the majority of the 1 vs 2 reps.
RB is generally not a position where the "young" excuse can be made. For the most part you "see it" with the good ones. I've yet to see anything from him. The fact that no one can take his spot is more concerning than anything.

Hansbroughs freshman season wasn't much better than Witters.
You may be right, but I would wait to see how he looks in a real game. He did make solid progress last season.

I'm not saying Ish will be good or bad.
Just seems too early to write him off. I anticipate Ish will get every chance to prove what he can do over the first month of the season.

All I know is that he was the first player I can ever remember actually, literally being afraid for their health. I honestly didn't want him to get the ball, not because I didn't think he was good, but man I cringed every time for fear that he'd never get up, literally.

The very limited, and yes it's admittedly limited, times watching him, he just seems to plod along when he runs. I'm sure he's fast but he don't look it. He seems to move but go nowhere, though I'm sure he is.

Backup RB is frankly a mess at this point. Better hope RH stays healthy.
That tells me Steward ain't close either. Walters, back or not, won't be ready. Abbington didn't put in the work. And Witter is a hit away from being in a coma.

He's been a huge disappointment in camp. Runs too tall, runs soft. Poor instincts. Misses holes. Not in great shape. Slight build. Didn't add much strength in JUCO.

He has a long way to go. Backup RB is frankly a mess at this point. Better hope RH stays healthy.
Is he talking Witter or Abbington (with the JUCO comment)?
I always felt part of Witter's cachet with the staff was that he was one of the first (was he THE first?) players recruited from Florida after the move to the SEC.
As a running back he's completely unimpressive. Not SEC caliber to this point.

Witter took more big hits than any Mizzou RB I can remember last year. That was in a pretty limited number of carriers.
He actually had a really solid second half of the season. Averaged about 5 ypc over that period.

My impression of Abbington, and I'm a fan, is that he runs way smaller than his build.
Being long isn't a great thing for an RB if you aren't using your size to run over people.
Like many fans, I'd love to see him move to a WR position.

He'd never play at WR. If we are going to get anything out of him at this point he needs to step up at RB.

Josey sucked in practice.
Just sayin'.

I agree that this is his preference, but it's not where he'd be most successful IMO.
