I'm not coming at you. I should have made that clear. I just happened to hit reply to your post because it was the last post at the time I started typing. No worries.

Like I said, I don't know who said what. And I don't care. Football season is here. I'd rather see us all band together against tRant and the shitstorm that's sure to come whether we win or lose.

Damn. I was really kind of getting excited about the season when we hit that 1 week mark. But now with the game week depth chart coming out, I'm absolutely pumped.

I'd normally be a bit concerned about so much youth, but for some reason, I got a great feeling about this group. Not sure what it will translate into in terms of W's and L's this year, but I can't wait to find out.

My initial impressions.

OL - Some really solid depth here, especially if Abeln is that good. That was out of no where. Guys like Bauer and Rhodes didn't even make the 2 deep. That should say something I would think.

QB - It's all be discussed. Excited and happy for Lock. Mauk won't be benched (I don't think) but how long until one of those infamous "strains".

RB - Abbington will probably eventually find the field somewhere. If for no other reason than someone being banged up.

WR - Was hoping Smith would find the 2 deep. And there's room for him on it. Brents and Laurent? I'll trust GP in this, just a little surprised. My guess is those guys just know the play book that much better having been around the program for so long.

TE - Blanton has been a disappointment. For all the love I recall hearing in the previous camps and summers, where the hell is he?

DE - Howard must really have impressed. No McWilliams (he gone) and jumped Williams (he gone?).

DT - Can't wait to see TBJ in action. How about Josh Moore? A kid who we recruited, committed to tOSU, decommitted, committed to kU, decommitted, committed to MU with the understanding he wouldn't play TE (which I think he went into things preferring). Good for him embracing the opportunity.

LB - Really excited about this group. So deep that Beisel isn't even listed on the 2 deep (not that he won't play). Absolutely set at the position for the foreseeable future.

CB - Just love this group. Not much else to say.

S - See cornerback. Good to see Ross' name on the 2 deep. Also, with Hilton impressing, we are apparently secure at this spot for the foreseeable future too.

How much passion do you have bruh? What level of passion should we strive for? Do I need to have Mizzou PJs?

Please, let me know.

With the players Mizzou has recruited I would say the biggest question mark next year will be OL. However, with that said, this team has the look of at least 9 wins for the next several seasons easy. I am almost giddy to see this offense in 2017, it's going to be very very special.

My comment to keep things civil was not directed only at you. But I hid your post because that's were the language escalated and it would only go downhill when that starts. It's all good - we're all excited and ready for the season to finally start. Emotions are up. Let's just try to have fun and take the aggression out on others, not each other. M I Z!!

He's only a RS freshman. He had a solid camp, none of the other TEs really played much at this stage of their careers.

Witter has never impressed me. But I'm sure he is fast.

Abbington needs to get with-the-program, not later but now. He's got talent, but I wonder about his "brain/attitude". He barely made it into school after not playing JUCO last year. Now, he doesn't make the depth chart. We need a big tough RB. He needs to "push" in the classroom and on the field. I have complete confidence in our coaches. Please "get with it" Chase.

Steward is getting rid of the rust. Stay healthy and continue to progress.

RB is the problem area. Hansbrough has no one to come in for him. I even suspect we'll see Mauk rushing more.

I think Ish has regressed. He's way too easy to knock over.

On TB, it's been said that Abbington showed up out of shape, and he's not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Also said, if/when Walters returns he will move to #2.

I'll bet we'll see some experimenting with the running game. Maybe Dorherty will be used, even Zanders.

Zanders at RB or too small? He's kind of like a Murphy no?

We really need Steward to get right.

Witter isn't worth a damn. I'd rather see Hunt in the game. Abbington looks nothing like a 4*, and Walters is coming back from major surgery. Who knows how good he is anyway.

Actually, Doherty was really the only one making even somewhat consistent plays during camp but it was all against the 3s. Redshirt.

RB is an issue, and it shouldn't be with 7scholarship backs.

GP said yesterday that Lock has to earn his playing time. It would be interesting if the team keeps winning, but Lock proves to be the better QB this year.
Would he replace Mauk?
Any position other than QB he probably makes the move.

What's up with Abbington? He's got JUCO experience and had a year off to get stronger. Does it seem to be lack of effort, can't grasp the playbook? Anyone with any insight?

He's been in Columbia less than a month. Most JUCO players need some time to adapt. Golden spent a year as a special teams ace. He has 3 years, expect him to figure it out later this year.

Exactly this. I think he'll get it together by mid-October. The coaches will be pushing him hard. And we need a healthy Steward. As far as Witter goes, he has a great stutter-step, and is shifty. He's just small. I keep hoping to see him play like Murphy.

As far as Zanders, I don't know if RB would be natural for him. With his build, I'd love to see him at slot. And come in on wildcat packages, like some of the old dusty plays Brad Smith used to run.

He's been a huge disappointment in camp. Runs too tall, runs soft. Poor instincts. Misses holes. Not in great shape. Slight build. Didn't add much strength in JUCO.
"
He has a long way to go. Backup RB is frankly a mess at this point. Better hope RH stays healthy.

How is Ish to small, he is the same size as Josey, Murphy, Hansbrough, Lawrence, & Temple were as sophomores.

Zanders has shown a lot as a QB. He would be deadly at Oregon, Auburn, & Arizona type offenses. Where the use the QB in the run game heavily, but also use him as a passer.

Witter runs small no matter what size he is. Goes down way too easily. Doesn't have great vision or speed.

He's just not any good.
