You can't figure out how no head coaching experience and then jumping into the SEC would look bad on paper?

The guy has no offensive experience, please tell me how that is going to help a team that has no offense.

The hire looks like shite on paper. The only thing that is saving him is what is off paper.

A lot of programs made shitty hires then.

For some reason, several schools seem to place importance on a wealth of other qualities well before experience.

That still doesn't fix the OL, RB, or WR talent. The coaching is shite, even if the scheme is fine.

This OC hire will make or break Odom's tenure.

Based on his press conference and subsequent interviews, I feel MUCH better about his grasp on this.

He's not going to sit by and idly watch five OLs get turnstyled over and over and over without help. Or run the same dumbass bubble screens and Ish Witter runs up the gut ad nauseam. He's not going adhere to some rigid idea of scheme and play calling based on some bullshite formula when it's not working.

And all you have to do to confirm this (beyond what he said) is watch how he operated his defense in Memphis and here. He adjusted his defense to his personnel.

I size up Odom as a younger, more intelligent, more intense, better prepared version of Pinkel.

If he brings the same intelligence to his offense that he has to his D, this has home run hire potential.

Unless things has changed, looks like Josh Heupel is the leader for OC per PM.

He seems the perfect choice. He rus an effective offense has ties to Mizzou and Odom, and can be beaten on money from a smaller school.

Thats' only 4 letters away from Josh Henson. Skating on thin ice.

I was just scanning when I read that, and my heart dropped. Shudder.....
