I use logic to make conclusions.

Internet rumors are cool and all, but tell me just one reason we would double his offer aside from their being other suitors. Just one?

Besides...hur dur, Sterk is a big dummy

Here’s what I know, Illinois is talking about offering $4.8m/yr to Tony Bennett, they aren’t talking about offering half that for Cuonzo

THAT DOESN'T MEAN I WANT US TO PAY A TOP 20 SALARY NATIONALLY FOR AN AVERAGE COACH! WHAT IN THE ACTUAL frick?!

If we're going to pay that kind of money, WE SHOULD'VE HIRED MARSHALL! Can you stop sipping on the kool-aid for one minute? WAKE UP!

There's a difference between paying Marshall 4 million and paying Martin 3.5 million. If people can't see that I don't know what to tell you. We have this money and we hired Kim Anderson? This is a complete and utter desperation hire.

3.5 mill for Martin...lmfao. Yep you're setting yourself up for that kick in the Mizzou nuts. It's inevitable for a young fan. Why? Because weve been there, done that.

The entire list of all the nation's coaches who make more than Martin's alleged salary:

John Calipari, Kentucky ($6,356,756) Mike Krzyzewski, Duke ($6,043,979) Rick Pitino, Louisville ($6,004,529) Bill Self, Kansas ($4,955,186) Tom Izzo, Michigan State ($4,006,955)

Uh...that's five coaches. Five. Yup, five.

Yes $3.5 is high. Yes it puts Martin near top of list.....this year! Looking at that list Marshall is making $3 and Jay Wright is at $2.4? I'm going to go out on a limb and say that neither one of them is signing their next contract remotely close to that. (As are most of those coaches making $2-2.5 mil). Illini are reportedly already offering over $4 for Bennett. Martin will slide down that list every year. Sterk made an good offer and sets up Martin to stay for 5 and if goes well it will be a friendly contract in years 3-5. Sometimes you have to spend money to make money. (Oops, now saying 7 years)

As a fan I'm comfortable with hiring a P5 coach who's coached in Missouri and has ties to St. Louis and as a added bonus may get a Porter back.

You're such a sunshine pumper on the front end.

Barry Odom is the greatest coach ever.
Cuonzo is worth $10M.

Whatever.

I think if he was from Florida with the same coaching career I'd be down about it. But let's face it, tapping in to stl or a lack there of has held this program back, let's hope this changes it

I want a good coach first.
Someone who can recruit a particular geography doesn't mean shite if they can't coach. Cuonzo is the most boring style of basketball in the history of the world. It's painful.

As I said on the rant. He makes Frank Martin look like Paul Westhead.

3 or 3.5 mil a year is go to the Final 4 every once in a while coach money.

We just hired a guy we will be excited to make it to the Sweet 16 a couple times with.

Second round NCAA ceiling is not worth 3 mil a year. If Illannoy pushed the salary to those terms, let them have him.

Get ready for brilliant answers after our 10-12 losses a year. "They did not play hard enough."

ugggggghhhhhhhhhh.

Sterk - Lot of good options out there and you chose this??????????
