Logic escapes many folks, but you believe we nearly doubled his salary just because we are nice? We had extra money laying around and just decided to give it to him? Trying to drop down a tax bracket? What exactly?
He was offered that much because thats what it took to get him. There is one logical reason as to why that would be.

Lol the market says if Mizzou offered 3+ mil to the majority of head coaches they would say yes. Over paying for a guy because another team wants him is being a sucker, not paying the market value. Market value says 3+ mil should get you a top 10 coach.
