Gary Patterson would be my first call, he's a great coach who's players play hard for him, won a Rose Bowl at freakin TCU. He's my dream coach, one I think is reasonable for us to land. What I wouldn't give to have him over Drinkel.

I know I have been critical over Pinkel and Im starting to fall in line with the "We do what we do" Missouri attitude but I would still add 1.5MM or 2MM to the 3.1MM we already pay Pinkel and just give Jim Harbaugh a call.

I think Patterson is more of a "Texas" guy so he may be out of the question. I was more for Petersen but that ship has probably sailed, it's really an enterprise where timing is essential, which is another reason I have little faith in Alden ever getting it done. He'll need a team and a couple of research firms just to get his nose sniffing the right trail.

Alden is an even bigger problem than Pinkel but we will never be able to get rid of him. I'm convinced that our football and basketball programs could lose literally every game for 5 years straight and he will still be here, he's made the school too much money, no scandal/blowout loss after blowout loss will ever change it. This school doesn't care about athletics, they never did.

Did Pinkel and Alden double team you one night but then never call? Your obsession is creepy. Maybe if you keep posting about it, somebody will give a shite.

He's not untouchable, but why exactly would he be fired?

Get off the ledge man. You obviously didn't live through the 80's. Please tell me why they moved to the SEC? For academics?

When you think about it has he really made THAT much money though? Considering the backyard billionaire club in Como and the overall wealth of the Mizzou fan base, I don't see that he's overachieved in this area. Outside of the recent 40 million commitment from the KC Missouri club and the 10 million or so from Laurie for the arena, what really large contributions has he generated?

I'm sorry Reedus but this has become a ridiculous habit, every time someone mentions that things might be better we have to refer back to one of the low points, if not the low point in the schools history as some sort of warning that we shouldn't attempt any real change because it might backfire.

Because things have gotten a little better is not a reason to be satisfied and throw up our hands exclaiming "but it could be worse". If schools like Vandy, Kentucky, Miss/St and Arky can up their fortunes in SEC football, then so can we. Being satisfied with "well it's better than the 80's" just doesn't cut it for me any more.

The easiest response to someone going back to the 80s for justification is to say they obviously didn't live through the 60s when Mizzou football bowed to nobody and won shite.

I'd rather fight sophistry with logic than more sophistry though, neither past failure or success is a sufficient argument for denying what's possible if we simply decide to not accept mediocrity.

We haven't been mediocre under Pinkel though.

Besides, I'm not sure what fans deciding they aren't going to take it on a message board is going to do unless every TSF donor doubles or triples their contribution.

I understand where you guys are coming from, its a HUGE risk but one we will eventually have to make.

Reedus and Jesus all I ask is for you guys to answer my hypothetical, if we were to lose every football and basketball game for 5 years and zero changes were made would you guys finally be angry like I am?

Why do you think that Haith moved on to Tulsa? Because we didn't take winning seriously? I'm guessing it's because he wasn't sure he could win enough this year to keep his job.

I'm frustrated with a few things in our AD. But it's not the apocalyptic situation you're presenting it.

We've been a lot closer to mediocre than we have to outstanding or even very good. Pinkels winning percentage is not great and he's near the bottom of the SEC. But he is paid like a top coach, so there is that, right?

You're wrong. Since 07 we are in the top 10 amongst power 5 schools in wins. That's nowhere near mediocre.

Pinkels SEC record is 10-8. Not great by any stretch of the imagination, but you also have to consider what a injury train wreck that 2012 was. This year isn't tracking well either, but that's what happens when you lose that much talent and your promising QB turns out to be a turd. Not that GP is absolved from any blame, but things aren't always rosy.

He'll have us back up in a couple of years though.

2012 Pinkel is declared to be on the hot seat.
2013 wins the SEC East and nobody admits THEY claimed Pinkel was on the hot seat.
2014 Pinkel is the problem again.

Amazing how that works.

yea if we just throw out the bad seasons and only count the good ones, it's all hunky dory, but facts are facts, but Pinkel is a little better than .600 and that's close to average, certainly close enough.
