Prtintz is a QB. Mauk is just an athlete. Zanders might be the best option this year with the complete lack of protection by the line but he's not the future either.

Wasn't Mauk named %1 before the spring? In other words, there wasn't even a competition for the job? If I remember correctly, it was handed to him and the battle was for who would be #2.

Excellent point. Recruits gonna start to abandon ship. Then good luck resurrecting the program. I remember the 80's. We do not want to re-live that.

Any chance Drew Lock (if he stays) gets the start next year?

Reedus, you really don't believe he can earn the starting position? Is that because you think GP will stick with the upperclassman?

GP won't start a true frosh. The only chance we have a new starter anytime soon is an injury.

but Lock's skillset is so much better, I think he's hard to keep off the field.

Little bit of both. It's tough as at true freshman. It's a big jump. But I have to say I have watched Lock do more on tape than any other recruit and he's been as impressive or more than any I've watched. It's still a big jump. I do think he has the skill sets and the head to play as a true freshman and avoid a red shirt, I just don't think GP will start him though.

GP won't start him. He just won't. Doesn't matter how good he is.

Well then that puts fans in the shitty position of hoping for a 2014 disaster in order to force change and fresh thinking for 2015. That sucks.

Why would you subject him to quarterback a team that could possibly be worse than this year's?

Mauk makes the OL look a lot worse than it is.

how many announcers have we heard say "Mauk can't see over his big offensive line" or something like it? They say that every week, even the simpletons in the booth can figure out Mauk is not doing much to help his team and rolls out trying to "see the field' often when he doesn't need to.

Not saying the line is all that great but they really aren't as bad as he makes them look at times.

Yet Arkansas keeps losing and adding another 4 star by the minute. As soon as we lose a few games the few good recruits we actually land jump ship, its such a bad deal.

Printz or Berk should have gotten a shot, they literally couldn't do worse. McElroy on the SEC network broke down all the open receivers Mauk missed yesterday and pointed out the Phantom pressure he was feeling was causing him to leave the pocket early. Why we weren't running quick slants and stuff I do not know, as they were open all day. I've read rumors about Mauk closing down bars downtown during game weeks and partying hard for during the season, I think there's a lot of locker room issues we don't know about as well. This is a repeat of 2012 just without the injury excuse for GP this time.

Probably because Bert has a defined vision of what he wants his team to be and players are buying in.

Missouri's vision is being done by multiple, higher profile schools.

So if we're mediocre what do you sell?

Agreed. The tweets that have leaked out seem to lend some credence to the bad locker room chemistry idea.

I was listen to Jim Holder's show on 550 am in St. Louis thiz morning. The voice of Mizzou football Mike Kelly was asked if Eddie Printz should have gotten some time yesterday. He said no Printz is not ready. If he was he would get a couple of series per game like MM did last year.

If Mm goes down and Printz is not ready we are in some deep deep shite.

We are in no deeper shite then we are now. I like Mike, but that's just his opinion.

If Printz isn't capable of playing better than Mauk has the last couple of games then he has no business being on scholarship.

Even if it's just to give Mauk a mental break, you still have to do it and at least see what happens. You never truly know until a guy gets in a game what you have.

He's not ready will be Pinkel's line because he's not going to change QBs. He refuses to.

If not Printz then at least try Berk. He was a higher rated 3* coming out of HS. I know he was bad in 2012 as a RSFR in relief of JF, but has he not improved at all? I'm sorry but neither of them could do worse than Mauk has been doing.
