Well if the reports are true, this thread is now moot. I hope the reports are true.

So how big of a twist are you all going to get in if Odom promotes Walters to DC and goes outside to hire a LB coach?

I'd rather he go get a proven, experienced DC but if that's what he wants to do then I'll give it a shot.
He'll get three years to get the ball rolling, unless the end of this season and next are both train wrecks so it's his decision to make.

Blah... Walters would be OK on an interim basis....
Unless all BO is looking for, is token DC, with BO calling the plays. Then Walters would work.
Agree, that BO probably has two more years.
Curious how they look and play the rest of the year.

I don't see this. Of all the things BO has learned this year, it's the HC's responsibility to oversee everything & not get too wrapped up in 1 area. Yes he's going to be more "involved" in the D but is it just this week or the remainder of the season? Who knows but I don't see BO being the defacto DC.

That's interesting. We hear that BO wanted to install the current defense last year, but didn't. And if the defensive line coach is not speaking with the DC, then all that mess falls on the shoulders of one HCGP.

Fair enough. Makes sense.
I'm at least hoping the shake up, will be enough spark, to get the D playing like we all know they can....... This has been the most frustrating part of the season for me.. Win or lose, just play up to your damn potential.
Here's hoping for a W tomorrow

I think we thought this after the GA game to a degree but we haven't tackled for shite all year and no amount of scheming can fix that. The one thing we've been in the past few years is a great tackling team both individually & collectively.
I read a couple of weeks ago about the D guys individually (concerning tackling) going for the "kill shot" instead of initiating the tackle and others assisting on the tackle & I think it's spot on.

7 returning starters on D.

First couple seasons at CU, they were talking about MacInyre the way some of us are talking about Odom. It wasn't until he got his signees in place that it started to gel. He's a great recruiter.
