Apparently lost recruiting battle to Vandy.

#Mizzou target Shelton Mitchell tweets that he is headed to Vanderbilt

Either that or if you buy into TB mentality, Mitchell all of a sudden sucked and we didn't want him and moved on to other, better players.

He would've been a good recruit to get. But I was pretty underwhelmed by his highlight videos. Seemed to be capitalizing a lot on lower level talent and smaller players.

We had added another PG to our target list. 4* I think. Anyone remember his name?

Eta: I looked back in the thread.
Ahmaad Rorie
He committed to Oregon a couple days ago.

At this point, are we better off just pocketing the two remaining scholarships? Seems like the better idea than giving them to someone who isn't ever going to play or that we'll have to process a year down the road ala Bull/Rector.

Kreklow would rather walk on at Creighton than take a scholarship at Mizzou. Committed to Creighton.

Bank both of the last two at this point.

Actually, yes. I'd do this. Kid has stuck through it all this time and it costs ya nothing.

Vandy has played about .500 ball the last two seasons. This is a big season coming up for Stallings.

According to people on PM, Mitchell's momma got involved and wanted him to go to Vandy, while he wanted Mizzou, hence the delay in announcing.

Apparently Mizzou is just a shite school academically and private schools like WF or Vandy are way better. /sarcasm

Mizzou is a great school, but it's hard to argue against Vandy's academics.

I'm in the pocket the remaining scholarships crowd. Use them next year when you can put a full cycle of recruiting into players YOU want and not just settling for kids who are looking to transfer at the last minute. Honestly this team is a bìg question mark all over right now, wait till you know what you need for next season and then go out and recruit those players. If a lot of these Freshmen don't pan out we'll be happy we didn't waste the scholarships on last second transfers.

That would give us 5 schollies next year. Shamburger, Post, 2 that we've banked and of course, Rosburg when he goes pro.

Good thing Anderson is coaching him, you know he wouldn't have reached his potential under Carlton Banks.

Mizzou soph Cam Biedscheid says staff is appealing his eligibility to NCAA so he can play immediately this fall. He's hopeful.

What schools have been recruiting you the most lately? Who is on you the hardest these days?

Most recent schools I've heard from are Duke, Kentucky, North Carolina. I've heard from St. Louis, Kansas, Michigan State, Florida and Illinois.

Tatum Interview

One school absent from that list.

quote:

Are you and Harry Giles still talking about playing college ball together? What's the latest there?

It's a strong possibility, not officially yet, but we talk often on the phone and things like that. We talk about how fun and exciting it'd be to be with each other in college.

Does that mean you have looked at the overlap in your school lists?

Yeah, we look at schools that have offered or have interest in both of us.

Do you know which those schools are?

Wake Forest, Duke, North Carolina, Kentucky, I think Ohio State, I don't know the others off the top of my head.
