I totally agree with all that. I just think if Clark beats out Shamburger, I'll take it as an all around positive. The lack of multiple ball handlers has crushed this team the last couple years.

Maybe I wasn't saying it clear enough before, but this hits it on the head and maybe I was mis-reading STL's posts, but the impression I had was that it is believed that Shamburger is good enough to just walk in and help salvage the team. He might be good. He might not. But I wouldn't discount Clark. I don't think it's a given that Shamburger gives the answers. We don't know. He played in a shitty conference against shitty competition. Some of the worst teams Clark played against were probably on par with a majority of the teams Shamburger played. Combined with a new system and a year's maturity and Clark may provide the answers, not Shamburger. And yes, that's a good thing, or I'd hope it is a good thing. We shall see.

I might do that with Gant, but Shamburger is gonna have to show me he's Gant-like good.
What about Gant's game gives you this opinion?

It really is odd that y'all are expecting more from the unproven players who have underperformed compared to Shamburger up to this point in college, or who haven't even stepped on the court yet.

I, too, will be glad to see Clark beat out Shamburger because that will indicate Clark improved a lot more over the offseason than I expect. We all agree Clark will be a better talent by the time he graduates, but for next year, it only matters who's a better player now, and that's pretty clearly Shamburger.

If it's not Shamburger, Mizzou is gonna run the point through a sophomore who has no starting PG experience. Clark just isn't at the point yet in his college career where he can knock off a senior PG who's already got 3 years of playing experience in college basketball and 4 years total on a college basketball bench.

SEASON - TEAM - PTS - REB - AST
2014 - HAW - 9.3 - 3.0 - 5.4
2012 - SJSU - 13.1 - 2.9 - 5.2
2011 - SJSU - 12.4 - 3.8 - 2.4

Gant may very well turn out to be a bust as well. Only time will tell with all of them. As for Clark and Shamburger, I have no idea who the better player is. Again, time will tell. The experience certainly counts for something, I'll give Shamburger that. On the flipside, I'd bet Clark already has as much or more playing time against tougher competition than Shamburger. Who knows. Don't really care. The team will be whatever the team is. I'll hope they do well regardless of whether some signee excites me or not.

We've offered former 4* PG California commit Ahmaad Rorie per twitter.

LINK

Also, according to PM, Mitchell is down to Mizzou and Vandy, with rumors he might commit to Mizzou on his visit this weekend.

Competition and depth is a good thing. Like the idea of the veteran along with Clark with a year of experience under his belt and the talented lefty freshman Mitchell. I don't know what to expect from Rector.

If so great news. When Anderson was hired I was just hoping he could keep Gant and Wright on board. He's added Allen and the Hawaii transfer point guard . He has already exceeded my recruiting expectations. The possible addition of Mitchell would be outstanding, a point guard with length and play making ability.

Are we sure? I'm pretty sure it always showed him as a commit.

The news just keeps coming. Rector leaving the program. 2 spots available.

Any news on Mitchell? Haven't seen anything about him being in Columbia.

Gabe seems to think he will commit to Mizzou. So I take that as it went well.

Mitchell apparently announced via Twitter he's having a tough time making up his mind and has delayed his decision.

He was scheduled to announce today but people starting blowning up his twitter about it yesterday and he said he is taking his time. He could announce today, but wouldnt be surprised to see it pushed off until next week.

Gabe DeArmond @GabeDeArmond Appears at this point unlikely a decision from Shelton Mitchell will come today as had originally been thought. Not sure on a new timetable
