Well, the rumor is starting to make it around that we are going to try and hold him out- let him get a medical RS and transfer to a school with an offense that fits him.

I've heard that's been talked about as well. There's no "white elephant in the room" situation going on from within I don't think. Russell told my brother immediately after the Troy game that he would be the starter.. All which could be the same crock you speak of. I just can't see a group as tight as Mullen, Russell and Prescott having some tense situation that couldn't be handled with the team's best interests as top priority..

Gonna be interesting.

That's why he gives it up on the read option 95% of the time and Perkins gets blown up because no one respects it.

Mullen said last Monday he would start if he was cleared. He was cleared- and not only did he not start- he didnt play a snap.

He wasn't cleared in the early part of the week. That's what Mullen was refering to.

No he hasn't. Has succeeded a couple times in his career because it was so wide open, and he has showed he can't many many more times.

I thought you were just keeping it real?

More than happy to post these all night man.

Again.. I can place gifs all night of him, when ASKED to do it, handling it just fine.

I realize that you want to use numbers here, and that's all well and good. However, you can't blam TR for the lack of calls.

You are right. We are not. Just like Alcorn isn't LSU and Auburn isn't LSU. And currently Dak is completing only 47% against AP ranked and SEC defenses.

However, as I said, I can show you gifs all night long on him running when ASKED. I started with UAB because that's were he pretty much took over.

One word comes into play here, gamesmanship. Whoever he says will start the other will get the start. He knows just like we do that the offense flows better under dak

Who will take the first snap versus LSU?

Just to put my two cents in, here we go.

First, questioning the fact that Russell had/has a concussion is a little asinine. Secondly, I feel bad for the kid, because as many have already said, he has been great for the university and has seemingly poured his heart into it.

Now, to address the actual game. I would like to say we could afford to do as already mentioned, trot Tyler out there for 1 MAYBE 2 drives, and let him decide for us. Does well, great. Does horrible, pull him and never look back. However, I'm just not sure we can afford to give those drives to Russell if he does indeed fail. Dak will need a drive or two to get things going if Russell stalls the offense and 4-5 possessions into the game may be too late.

Also worth noting, Tyler Russell had the most completions (26) and passing yards (295) of any quarterback last year against the LSU defense (I could be mistaken but I believe this was tweeted by Michael Bonner yesterday).

In conclusion, what seems to be overlooked (sans when darkhorse brought it up and no one took note because most of what he says is a little ridiculous) is the fact that if the playcalling were the same for Russell as it has been for Dak the past three games, I believe Russell could be successful. No, I'm not talking about him being a threat on the read option although sometimes he can keep the D honest if he has the confidence to pull it (Which he won't because that is the origin of him being concussed). I am talking about the speed sweeps to Jameon, the WR screens, the quick hitting slants, all the plays that we asked for Russell, Dak seemed to get.

Who can forget that great UAB rushing performance when Russell had 5 yards on 3 carries

It will live forever

Tyler was only sacked 17 times last year

I think it would be best for everyone if we let him go the med redshirt route. Who knows, he could do something awesome like Russell Wilson going to Wisconsin his senior year and making a nice run in the pros.

If he were to medical redshirt I would put money on him to transfer somewhere. Florida needs a QB I think
