Treon can definitely positively affect the people around him. This team loves Treon. And you should too. Not because of his race, but because he's a Gator. And he's the starting QB now.

Let's not forget that we were begging for Treon to be the starter last season. Now he has more experience...but isn't good enough?

Treon is still better than Driskel. Mac is better than Muschamp.

yes he can! coaching is better this year. The offense is better. Treon is better, as shown in his play this year. If he limits mistakes, runs the offense and doesn't put the defense in bad positions our expectations should not any worse that with Will at QB for the teams that we have remaining on the schedule.

LSU will be a tall order, but he was the QB when we beat UGA and Vandy last year. He was the QB when we all but beat USC too. WR play has been much better with guys actually running routes and getting separation and we have a clutch TE.

Even LSU isn't outside of the realm of possibility. Treon outplayed Driskel last year and we almost beat LSU with Driskel at the helm. Of course, that was at home and Fournette is on another level this year, but we won't know what we have in Harris until we seem him in action. Who is to say Treon hasn't improved as a passer, especially under new coaching?

He seems to be a much better passer this year than last. Still not on Grier's level though.

He just has to play smart and UF can win any game.

Not everyone was wanting Harris to start. I personally didn't understand why people wanted him to start last year. To me it seem obvious that the problem was coaching more then the QB. I would prefer to have Driskell then Harris. Driskell clearly has more natural talent . We don't know what he would do with a coach that actually knows offense like we have now.

One good thing is that last year OSU won the championship with their 3rd sting QB

Yes. I have a lot of confident in Harris. Different year. Better coach.

i'll add to that.

grier hasn't exactly been setting the world on fire. he's had his moments and is coming along. this will definitely hurt his progress and maybe our team in the long run.

right NOW. this saturday. grier is NOT head and shoulders above treon. from watching them play this year, it's pretty close. atm, grier is NOT a great qb. hell, this saturday, treon might even give us a better shot because he is a better runner than grier even if he isn't any or much faster.

all these idiots who think grier isn't in the bottom half of sec qbs atm are silly, it's a rsfr who looks like a rsfr most of the time. grier may have been playing this whole time based on potential and treon might be neck and neck with him at practice. apparently it was close enough to play them both before treon went all pothead on us.

that said, i wish we had grier. he does have more ability and upside than treon, but right now he isn't that much better, if at all.

let's go frick up lsewe saturday in their own house and expose that excuse they have for a defense.

And Muschamp was our coach.

We should know by now that Muschamp's offensive "system" made some really talented offensive players look clueless. Brissett has done well at NC State. Driskel is looking like an NFL prospect at La Tech.

Harris was a true freshman as well -- a true freshman stepping into a hopeless situation. He played admirably all things considered.

Losing Grier sucks, but I Harris is no scrub. I think we can beat every team left on our schedule with him. I'm not saying we will, but every game is still winnable. And I still think some minor miracle would have to occur for us to not win the East at this point.

Amen...Treon was a TRUE frosh last year...pushed into duty because of Driskel & offense not getting the job done. I noticed the first thing when we played New Mexico State that Treons arm strength had greatly improved...which showed me that he busted his azz during the summer. He showed showed me some zip throwing the ball and trust me, there was a reason that McElwain didnt make Grier the # 1 QB even though he played well...he knew that Treon was not at all far behind Grier.

All we have to do is protect the ball and not give those drunk cajuns reasons to get rowdy more than usual. Our defense will be nasty and planning on stopping LF a lot in the backfield or at least hitting him enough that its cleanup time on aisle 9. Our punter Townsend can flip fields and we just have to shake loose on kickoff returns to put us in decent field position. Not starting inside our own 20 would really help. Hit a couple long passes during the game and hitting short ones to move chains will frustrate the kittens. They are going to be in a real fight.

It's not the offense that'll win this game. It's the defense. If they come for blood, it should be close.

They'll score points but I think we make it too difficult for them to keep up at the halfway point in the 3rd quarter all the way to the end of the game. Florida has even more reason to show up Saturday with everyone saying we're done without Grier. He wasn't the only component to get us to 6-0.

+1

Powell has been really average at kick returns, ranked 71st nationally. Would like to see Callaway back there as he seems to have better vision. Kick coverage is a weakness of LSU and we need to exploit it.

Prior to the Ole Miss, my key to victory was 4 sacks and + 2 on the turnover margin.

For the LSU game, we need 7 tackles for loss (either sacks or run stops) and + 3 on turnovers.

Protect the ball, win special teams and defense has to be on fire holding LF7 to 125 or less.

in all honesty, the blocking on returns has been bad. Pittman has done a terrible job taking on the first block and that's put powell in bad situations on the return.

I understand he's a senior and has been demoted as a receiver but Latroy Pittman has been a liability in all aspects of special teams all year long. Hope he can get it turned around.

You guys kill me with this talk.

3 for 6 is still 3 for 6 no matter how you cut it.

Treon isn't a scrub, but I have never seen anything from him telling me he's a star, either. Maybe decent/serviceable, but we'll have to see. He's going to get the chance to play in Death Valley, but until I see something positive I'll reserve judgement.

And Grier is not a bottom half of the SEC QB. I have no idea why people are suddenly shitting all over Grier for taking something that any of us could buy without it being illegal.

Jesus guys, let's not lose our heads over this.

I don't think we want or anyone is really calling Grier or Treon a "star."

There have been 3 star QBs in UF history!

We want a steady guy who can win games (Think more Leak, than Tebow, Danny, and Steve).

I think Treon can be as serviceable as Leak or 2012 Driskel. That's all you need with this defense and this new offensive-minded staff. Treon OR Grier can get us to 11 wins this year and the next
