Is Treon Harris good enough to get this thing done?

So the LSU game I'll give him a pass, but with Grier, UF was staring a 10 or 11 win season in the face.

Is Treon Harris good enough to take UF all the way to Atlanta? He needs to win 3 of the next 4. Can he do it?

No, no matter how many Treon slurpers that come out of the woodwork to say differently. I have noticed all the black fans on other boards have resurfaced now, but they are wrong.

So you don't think UF can beat South Carolina and Vanderbilt?

It wouldn't surprise me if he lost at least one, but that shows you the difference between the expectations of a real QB vs. Treon.

I'd say it's a long shot now but I look at it this way.

We weren't even considering the conversation last year and now we are at least talking about a chance to win the East even without our starting QB.

I'm just going to enjoy the ride and be thankful that Muschamp is gone and relish the fact that it appears we have a good coach again.

You damn right, brother. It will be my first "thankful for" at Thanksgiving this year.

I was never a Will(guy), or Treon(guy). I wanted the best player to play. With this defense , we have a chance in any game we play. So i think we still have a good chance to get to Atl. Hell if we don't not going to cry about it, this year as been better than i thought so far.

That's the way I'm looking at it. Media said we would barely make a bowl and UF was the first bowl eligible team in the SEC.

Win East, yes. Compete for a title, no. He isn't good enough to win eight of the nine remaining games we would need to win to get a national title.

WTF - so negative. He beat Vanderbilt badly last year and honestly SHOULD have beaten South Carolina too until the special teams melted down.

Now is his chance against LSU. A year later, but a chance.

I think its fitting that the LSU game will be his coming out like it was supposed to be last year...

Yes, we'll absolutely still win the East. We probably just need to beat Vanderbilt and South Carolina to do that.

I don't think our chances of winning the east change much , but the chance of winning the SEC or playoffs are about impossible now. What sucks even more is that next year should have been a great year for us with Grier and now it almost looks like a wasted year .

- In a strange way this could give us a mental edge as a team if the coaches do what I think they will and preach the idea of us being the underdog even more so than before. What I feared most was our guys reading the paper and seeing that number 8 ranking next to Gators and feeling they had arrived. I think the offense as a whole will play with an attitude now or at least they should. The media is gonna now be saying how we're doomed without Will Grier and that it's back to disaster ball.. As a receiver, as an OL, as a RB I'd take offense to people feeling the only reason we've been playing well is because of Grier. The game just became even more of a statement game. Time to go re prove what we had already proven.

(not my post...but it's fitting)

Frick you! It's supposed to be in all kinds of weather... whoever's taking the snaps! you're making this a race thing when it's really not. Definitely no need to mention "all the black posters coming out" you sound like the kind of guy who would prefer Morninwheg to Treon lol

Take that Crap somewhere else. I've always like both QBs. Love the beautiful ball Grier throws, loved Treon's mobility, confidence, and calm demeanor.

Now i've seen Grier is pretty mobile as well.

Against LSU, at tiger stadium, the QB play is not going to change much with Grier or Treon... sure to the fan, but with Vegas the line only moved a point (pretty negligible)...

It's not like we're losing Kelvin, Morrison, or J. Davis.

Treon can definitely positively affect the people around him. This team loves Treon. And you should too. Not because of his race, but because he's a Gator. And he's the starting QB now.

Yeah, playing the race card was pretty dick IMO.

The team has always liked Treon and respected him, maybe you should too.

I'm pretty sure the reason he almost won the QB battle was because of how the team played for him.

Add FSU to that too. He hit Westbrook right in stride in the red zone which miraculously turned into a pick 6 for FSU. That was at least a 7-14 point swing for FSU in a game we ended up losing by 5. Harris is 6-0 with a competent head coach.

I just don't get the negativity, HE WAS A TRUE FRESHMAN LAST YEAR under a Muschamp offense. He showed composure in hostile environments (at UT, at FSU) last year. He's not going to sling it all over the field but this team doesn't need that to win. Let's see what Mac can do with him and this offense before we write him off.
