There is one name I haven't seen dropped yet, John fricking Gruden.

I'm impressed with Fuente.

Didn't Gruden turn down the Tennessee job and then turn around and say something about it being his dream job?

I haven't been real impressed with Kingsbury so far. Anyway, he's the HC at his alma mater and all his ties are in Texas. He's a good fit there. I personally don't want another pass happy guy calling the shots. Plus, I think he's an arrogant prick.

Didn't realize TT was his alma mater.

Wasn't KK and Crabtree the dynamic duo at Texas Tech?

The QB during the Crabtree years was Graham Harrell. I think KK was the guy before him when Wes Welker was their stud WR.

Maryland just fired Edsall.

I'd like to think USC is a more attractive offer, but the fact is that they have a lead on the opening.

Gonna be an interesting few months...

Take Hudspeth off as a possible candidate imo.

ETA: or maybe it was a rogue assistant instead

What does everyone think of California's coach Sonny Dykes?

He almost beat number 5 Utah and has or had them ranked and currently 5-1.

His Louisiana Tech team almost beat A&M in 2012 when they had Maniziel. Tech lost 59-57.

I think he's a very good coach, but unless he wants out of Berkeley, I don't think it's realistic. He's got a P5 job in a pretty wide-open conference. He may want to get back to the South, but I'd be surprised to see him leave Cal at this stage.

There's a guy on CT (I know, I know) who is typically pretty sharp. He swears that Smart would bring Napier from Bama, and would probably bring Beamer back. I could get behind Smart/Beamer combo running the recruiting department...

...and Sarkisian officially fired.

I'm starting to think that this is all going to blow up in Tanner's hands.

Tanner needs to be making moves right now.

USC will contact someone by the end of the week on the down low. I think they might get rid of Haden before doing so, but they don't want to lose a step because of this. I bring him up a lot, but Chip Kelly has to be at the top of their list right now. I'm pretty sure USC is Kelly's dream position.

Herman is gaining serious popularity. A lot of schools will be yearning for an Urban Meyer protege. I'm sure he is on some short lists. Hopefully Tanner shares some of the sentiment a lot of us have expressed.

Moves have been made

Who do y'all think Tanner's first phone call is to?

Smart. I dunno, I just think that's Tanner's guy.

I'd much rather Fuente or Herman, though...

At least I think.

I'd love for it to be Dantonio, probably a long shot but with ties to the University he may listen
