Looks like Character is really on Savion Smith to come with him to Carolina too. Former guy from LSU, was a very high 4 star corner coming out of HS. Played in 10 games last year and transferred this year to Miss Gulf Coast CC.

I believe PT was the issue although he did play in 10 games.

We lead for Vann it seems, I mean he said as much. Kirby sounds desperate.

Desperate? That sounds pretty normal for a highly regarded recruit.

Sounds like Vann discussed it with USC coaches, and didn't want to be bothered on a daily basis by coaches. Either he didn't discuss it with UGA coaches, or they ignored him and are still calling him up daily. Vann called it "weird" - doesn't seem normal to him.

Also, apparently UGA wasn't recruiting him as hard until after he made a great showing at The Opening, when USC's coaches were on him consistently since the start of this year. That may be having an impression on him since he's made mention if that....

I feel like if you ask him next week he'll say UGA is his leader

But coaches texting/calling a recruit every day is not desperate.

247 Just put out an article indicating some of our commits could be getting ratings bumps and/or that their perceived talent level is higher than what the ratings may indicate even by outside coaches

I'll start another thread about this and paraphrase what the article said. Some pretty good stuff in there.

Hopefully once we get a roster full of players recruited by Muschamp and co. we'll start beating the big boys.

There was an article about this on our SEC Country page today. Vann basically said that he's not into talking to ppl that often and that he noticed that your staff really didn't talk to him all that much until he performed well at the opening.

Florida is gonna have to choke on what is developing at Carolina. Their whole bitchfest about Boom was his lack of qb and the offense. Guess what we have, Gators? And guess who brought it to us? Damn this is gonna be FUN!!!!

Vann said he is likely announcing a commitment on Saturday, also said he will likely take multiple visits over the season. His parents preference is Carolina, he said his decision will be based on where he feels most at home and comfortable and also the opportunity for early playing time.

I feel good about it, but the fact of early pt worries me a bit as we are stacked at reciever, although Deebo is likely gone this season with another solid season, couple that with potential xfers. I still think we have a decent lead here id put it at 65/35 USC

We're about to take Jackson and Moore and be done with recruiting WRs this year.

Yeah we have to be done at WR after Vann and I would actually not be shocked if we suggested that one of the other WRs, that are committed, look around.

I hate when we do that. I mean, I understand the reasoning behind it but I always feel disloyal to these kids when we do that to them.
