Just curious, but what is this based on? Besides Alshon Jeffrey, I couldn’t name another successful WR from SCAR

Successful in what ways?

Between Sterling Sharpe, Robert Brooks, and Sidney Rice Gamecock WRs practically made Brett Favre's career.

Kenny McKinley set some school records, had been in the NFL a couple of years before he shocked everyone and took his own life.

Troy Williamson had a good enough career here to be the #7 draft pick overall (in the 2003 or 2004 draft I think). He did bust in the NFL but was certainly skilled here, and in a Holtz era were we didn't have much of a passing game.

So there are five more that I can think of off the top of my head besides the ones already listed.

And only fans typing on a message board give a shite about calling themselves "WRU" over a 10 year period. Honesty, has it translated to success on the recruiting trail?

My point? While the link provided is certainly relevant to the discussion, it doesn't mean anything to a HS player. It's message board banter material, that's it.

And please don't compare me to a Clemson fan, I hate those frickers. Thank you

Who the frick has called USC WRU in this thread? If you're making strawman arguments just to troll our board, you can take that shite somewhere else. Again, CIYE posted directly relevant and supportive facts to his argument, and you've posted nothing but shite. Who gives a frick if little ole' you don't agree with what we post on our board, or if you can't remember any of our program's past players?

Saying that the success that USC's WR position coach has had with putting USC WRs into the NFL doesn't mean anything to WR prospects, when that same coach still coaches WRs at USC is about as asinine as anything coming from UGA posters, which says a lot considering how your UGA board frothed all over getting Grantham as your DC with recruiting because of his NFL experience, and then how y'all frothed all over getting Pruitt to replace Grantham with recruiting due to his outstanding NC experience at Bama and FSU.

Now our own WR position coach's experience developing WRs for the NFL don't mean anything to prospective WRs? GTFO.....

Can we just agree to ban the UGA posters since they banned the USC posters on their board?

Typical. We’re having a discussion, and because I disagree with the opposing teams viewpoint, you want to ban me. Go ahead, it’s the Liberal way of life. It’s a message board, lighten up. There are only 2 SCAR ranters worth a shite anyway, CIYE & CNB, so if you want to ban me have at it. I won’t lose any sleep.

I won’t argue Sterling Sharpe since his career was cut short. I’m not old enough to appreciate his impact, but I think his success goes without saying. I disagree with Robert Brooks and Sidney Rice (1 good season in SEA). Williamson is one of the biggest bust of all time, he was drafted on potential not production.

And thanks for not being a whiny bitch like cockapotamus

Rice's 1 good season was in 2009 in Minn with Brett Favre. He had 1,300 yards receiving and made the Pro Bowl.

There may be some credence to historical data, but I think the current position coach track record is an extremely important measurement, especially when using it as a selling point to current recruits.

Everybody has a great WR or so from the past 30 years, but these recruits want to know who's going to be developing them now and getting them ready to have an opportunity in the NFL.

Seems convenient, but I’ll concede.

Sorry but I'm tired of seeing a UGA poster spew ignorance in this thread and since USC posters can't do the same on the UGA board I'd rather just get rid of you, especially when the "discussion" is you belittling USC.

It might be different if you were citing UGA recivers but instead you are saying USC's only good receiver was Alshon Jeffrey, which is inaccurate and annoying

Lindsay Scott (1st rd - 13th - 1982) says hello - at least the Saints got it right drafting Big George 1st round - 1st pick - 1981.

to help all y'all hedgehounds out - Carolina has had 17 wide receivers play in the NFL with 14 being drafted. Georgia 14 with 12 drafted.

I disagree with Robert Brooks

Brooks was better than Andre Hastings in receptions (309 v 266), yards (4276 v 3306) & tds (32 v 18) - playing the same number of seasons in the NFL. Brooks was 3rd rd (62) in 1992 draft. Hastings 3rd rd (76) in 1993 draft. Brooks did play 4 less career games than Hastings while having better numbers

Rice was hurt too much to have FFB value. That's why I like Alshon, he's durable and the new #1 in CHI. I get to keep him in my FFB keeper league and I think he counts as my 11th or 13th pick in this year's draft, regardless, it's an insane value.

I was going to stash away Lattimore last year too, but someone beat me to it, and it turns out that it was better that I didn't get him. I'm going to wait until the season to see what happens with Mike Davis, unless, Carlos Hyde's leg injury is more serious than they're letting on right now. Right now I have Hyde who will count as my 14th Rd pick next draft. I think Davis can beat out Hyde, but he's going to have to work.

Another Gamecock with FFB value this season (maybe as a WR3) will be Ellington. The new SF coaches really like him.

I vote yes FWIW, but just the ones who disrespect the board ... considering where he's forcing this 2016 recruiting feed thread to go and how he responded to you - it's clear he's here for two purposes - to troll and disrupt.

Who knows who started it, but I think there was just some verbal sparring b/w a couple of our guys and a couple of their guys, but I don't recall anyone going to their board and posting "UGA Sucks" type of stuff.

I know in my case, there was this asswipe who took a couple personal attacks at me, and I retorted, so I got the boot. The Ga Tech Contingent on there had been trying to get rid of me for a long time, so that made them happy.

It's all good though, I can still talk all the trash I want on the main board when I want.

He's already going to get a ratings bump from all the sites, if he wins the MVP for the Finals though, he'll move up to a 5* and probably #1 QB Overall for the sites.

The final invite of the weekend went out to South Carolina commit Brandon McIlwain after he executed a flawless 7on7 session on Sunday afternoon:

"Brandon, I can't say enough about Brandon. I hadn't seen Brandon in a year and to see him come in and he made eye contact with me the first meeting. Every meeting he was so locked in taking copious notes. He was so invested in the process. We've had kids do that before and then stink it up on the field. And he was awesome on the field. So the combination of that, he's everything we're looking for in a kid. If Brandon McIlwain isn't a major league baseball pitcher, second baseman or NFL quarterback, he's probably gonna be more successful being a senator or the president of the united states or a CEO. He's that kind of kid."
