After he visits UGA he says he's going to shut it down and make a decision so you've got to think its really between USC and UGA. Don't think he's been to chapel hill.

If PT is still a big priority for him like he said early in the process then we are sitting pretty good

I would agree. If Sony and Chubb are as good as advertised, then it would be a while before he got any meaningful playing time at UGA.

Of course we have injuries and suspensions all the time. So...

Great news to hear about Sawyer being added to the '15 class. I updated the class list on the OP to include him, plus took away any references to questions about WR commit Jerad Washington: Rivals has officially added Washington to the class, and added to 247sports and Scout also having him listed, IMO he's now legitimate enough to claim as a future Gamecock!!

New post-Opening 247 updates:

Blackshear drops from a 5*/98 to a 4*/97
Fields jumps from 4*/96 to 4*/97

Turner and Pittman (surprisingly) stayed at 3*/89 and 4*/92, respectively.

From what I've heard Blackshear should earn his 5th star back during the season and the reason hes dropped is because he was hurt last year

Yes, he hasn't been able to participate in the spring & summer camps due to the injury I believe, which has hurt his rating as he has been pretty quiet...

The best part is, Blackshear DGAF about stars or rankings, he didn't want a part of any of the recruiting drama, so he made up his mind early and committed his Soph year. His stats will speak for itself when he dominates SC HS FB this year.

Are any of our recruits aside from DJ Neal shaky in their commitment? I wonder w/ so many of them being from out of state.

I like that Pittman committed early, but I think the FL schools will turn up the heat on him.

The AL and LA kids could also be trouble if the in-state schools offer.

What makes you think Neal's committment is shaky. He seems solid to me. He's really close with all the GA kids that are at USC or committed to USC.

You never can tell in recruiting, but Pittman is saying all the right things to indicate that he's very solid. The only other visit that he seems like he's going to take is a trip out to LA to visit SoCal. But he's going with one of his teammates and that just seems like more of a chance to enjoy the journey than actual interest. He also seems to be a recruiter for Carolina as well, which is always nice (BAW) but can't be taken for granted (Rolin).

Other than that I haven't seen any rumbling about anyone seriously looking around. Which is one of the good things about this recruiting crew. They seem to find great players before they blow up, get in early, and then keep them in the fold for the most part.

But only time will tell.

You're fair in your statement in DJ Neal being shaky based on his past behavior. However, he was told to firm up or walk by Ward, so now he's 'firm' for whatever that's worth. I think he'll meet some guys at the Showcase and find out this is the best spot for him.

I'm not worried about losing Pittman at all. UF will miss on some guys later in the season, then they'll make a hard run at Pittman, but Pittman's relationship with Coach Shaq Wilson and Botkin is only going to get stronger from now until then.

Milton said he is done. If LSU offers, I think he would visit, but he said he's not going to take any other visits, and that he's locked in on being at SC.

If any of the AL guys have a great season and get a late push from the instate schools, they might visit, but who knows. I don't know a lot about their situations.

Let's make a deal, neither of us will mention that kid again. I read these boards for fun, just now remembering that situation made me slightly agitated. ok, I'm good now.

Not saying I'd be on him to flip, but there was a little mutual interest b/w him and UT a few months ago.

I could care less about the Quinshad situation. We told him we wanted him, but we had 3 WR spots. He was twiddling his thumbs and kept things open. We got 3 WR's and at the time, all 3 appeared to be really good. Quinshad went on to have a great career at unc, good for him. The other guy who we're not talking about had a total different situation and was an a-hole about it.

After Carlos Dunlap ended up at UF I decided I'd keep up with recruiting but not get too invested in it, and I didn't really care about that situation (or the Rolin/Langley ones either tbh) while they were happening.

But in hindsight it really is frustrating how things played out.

DJ Jones is going to fsu's camp this weekend. If he doesn't commit, I really like our chances.

Marquavious Lewis is doing an OV with this family here for the Gamecock Showcase on 7-25.

We actually got a good group of our top targets and committed players coming in for the Showcase (it was called Black Magic last year, but they reverted back to The Showcase.)

OT Christian Pellage is also visiting fsu this weekend, and should be coming to The Showcase.

OT Matt Burrell should also be at The Showcase along with OG Zack Bailey.

Pittman and Washington are coming up form First Coast for it.

AJ Turner is coming down for it as well.

We should have a list a day or so before the even of who's coming, right now it's just a bunch of people saying they're planning to come. Usually some who say they're coming don't make it and then there area always some surprises.

Questions about Brandon Sandifer... does he have a committable offer and do you have room for him?

Our 247 guy said that we'll only be taking one more Guard. 2 OL overall, the other OL being a Tackle. So it looks like we aren't going to push for Sandifer as we are the leader for Zack Bailey right now.

Don't both project as Guards? Which one are we recruiting as a Tackle? I'm pretty sure Clemson is recruiting Bailey as a Tackle.
