I can't help but notice Barnett does survey the field and not just look at his first option. Had he stayed I can't help but wonder if he had grown during the year could Bama have won a NC with him because he is a far SUPERIOR passer to Hurts. It's not even close.

Exactly. It's a tough call though, because whoever the coaches chose, the other guy was likely to transfer.
I definitely like our chances late in the season with an experienced Barnett at QB, and Bo running like a monster.

I say all that, but I'm a huge Jalen fan. IF he improves as a passer in year 2, we've got ourselves a true weapon. If he doesn't, we've got ourselves a true mess - even worse if Barnett starts looking like Joe Montana at ASU.

If he doesn't, we have two QBs in Mac and Tua who can challenge for the job.

I am more concerned with our offensive line play than I am with QB.

Agreed. Perhaps it's being naïve, but I expect we will have one of the 3 step up over the course of the next 2 seasons and be a solid SEC QB.

bullshite. Take off your bammer glasses for a second, and realize that Barnett is a potential NFL QB.

Horse shite. I was rooting for him because I wanted a pro style QB to win the job. But the way he quit told me all I need to know about him. The rumors of his parents interjecting themselves into things doesn't help his cause, either.

You mean the intelligent way he quit so that he'd be eligible to play next season?
I don't fault him for doing what's best for him; not Alabama.
I think it's pretty stupid to publicly blame Saban, but everyone's stupid when they're 20 years old

Except football is the ultimate team game. Selfish actions, especially at a leadership position like QB, have consequences.

Yeah, the consequences being that he'll be leading his team on the field next year instead of sitting on the bench.

There's no guarantee he will start at ASU.

He could have led his team, the team he went through two a days with, spring and fall camp, conditioning, etc. He could have fought like hell to get the job back. He may have had good reasons, but that doesn't change the fact that he is a quitter.

I don't understand how anyone watched Barnett and saw NFL talent..his throwing motion is awful, he's gonna have to add 15-20 pounds, and he's not as mobile as he was hyped to be.

He looks more like a Bo Wallace-esque type of Qb..which is fine and will win plenty of games, but not worth dealing with if he's got a bad attitude

This is based on a few throws in garbage time. Got it.
