As the announcer in that video says... "Jalen Hurts finally produces a big play in the passing game" At the time he was 10 of 24 for 117 yards including that play, and unfortunately for us, he didn't produce any more big plays in the passing game.

Not the point that is being addressed. The point was that was "the only time all year OJ caught a ball in stride". That's patently false.

Like I said, there are plenty of truthful things to note to say Hurts had issues. The problem is everyone seems to want to add hyperbole and pile on things that just aren't true.

Above is exhibit A.

How is it the wrong answer when Hurts did show some of the playmaking ability as Watson in 2016?

You're right. He did show a very good running game when he wasn't rolling right and throwing it away. He just never developed the passing game that Watson, or even an average qb has. And you're right, he may develop that before it's over. Honestly, I kind of doubt he will, but I hope he will.

Oh but it is my point, and one I've made many times this year. That is, he can't consistently pass the ball effectively.

And since we're being specific, not "everyone seems to want to add hyperbole and pile on things that just aren't true."

The facts are ugly enough without adding hyperbole.

Great, I don't know why you responded to my post with it then. I made it clear (as I have ad nauseam) that Hurts had issues throwing the ball and that it was fair game to criticize. My point, in that post and multiple others, is that people seem to want to exaggerate how terrible he was and add things to it.

"Hurts was awful on any throws beyond the LOS" - the CFBStat chart shows that clearly isn't true. He was very bad beyond 20 yards. He was pretty accurate and safe with the ball within 10 yards, and average between 10-20 yards. That is totally different than the LOS.

"OJ never caught a pass in stride from Hurts all year" See above.

You are right. As I noted in an edit, the facts are bad enough without exaggeration.

You get so sensitive about this shite. You can, you know, debate it without personal attacks.

It's a game. You know?

I think we wouldn't even have been playing Clemson had Barnett been the QB last year.

Yeah, I don't understand the whole nervous thing. Even if he was nervous....he barely played Is it not ok to be nervous for a few snaps?

After his first series or two, I think he usually played well.

Here is the system Huddie and others like to use on here:

1. Post something overly negative using lots of hyperbole.
2. Stick with the hyperbole in the face of facts that disprove it.
3. "Calm down bro, it's just a game."
4. "Everyone that disagrees with my negative, overstated assessment is a sunshine pumper."

Nick always says the QB has to win the team. Blake might have been a great, cool teammate, but he was throwing picks left and right in practice. I was the biggest Blake supporter. He didn't win the teams confidence, made the decision easier to play hurts.

The SC game was the culmination, fair or not.

You are correct. I'm not sure why folks don't want to face it. Hurts needs to be a better passer, and his lack of decent accuracy cost us.
