I'm having a hard time believing that Grantham is THIS good for Louisville, but sucked so hard for us. Was it really the players?

I know the level of competition is different, but we didn't look this good against crap teams. Louisville is DESTROYING FSU right now.

Nope, granthamed is good at using talent, but he is awful at developing talent. He inherited the #3 defensive team from last year. Let's wait and see how he does when he gets a young defense.

Yeah, that is a good point. As I recall, his first year with us was bad, but the second year was his best.

With one of the most talented defenses uga has ever had. A defense that performed well under expectations for much of 2012.

People forget that Grantham had a top 5 defense in 2011. 2012 might have been the most under-preforming unit in school history and the 2013 defense, the first one made up entirely of his players, was the worst in school history.

IMHO Grantham had become a solid DC but didn't seem to be a great recruiter. I don't think his personality was a good fit with Richt/Georgia and I didn't like the way our defense played in the secondary. As many have cited our players mentioned complicated schemes and too often they looked confused on the field.

Louisville's defense played very well in the first half of that game but as much as I hate to say it, Jameis Winston is a damn good QB and FSU might well be the most talented team top to bottom in college football.

FSU seems to be one of those teams that sandbags against lesser competition and the turns it on when they have to. Hopefully this mode bites them in the butt by the end of the season but don't count on it. They are going to be tough to beat in the playoffs.

Grantham is enjoying the benefit of fundamentally sound and well coached players from....Strong. The second half last night was a pre-cursor of the regression that will take place over the next 24 months. As Strongs coaching influence ebbs, Grantham's will slowly(at first) appear. Louisville fans don't see this and won't until they to are watching his defenses getting shredded 7 times a year.
