re: Arkansas 2020 is Arkansas 2019 with a better turnover margin

This a great example of "stats don't lie, but statisticians do"

They're creating havooc on defense and not turning it over on offense.
They’ve turned it over 7 times this year, it’s just that the other teams have turned it an incredible 14 times in 4 games. They are still averaging nearly 2 turnovers a game themselves though.
And when they aren’t getting turnovers, the defense is actually below average. Their run defense is legitimately bad (worse than last year through 4 games) and their pass defense is about the same as last year.
Again, outside of TO margin leading to two anomalous wins this is the same team by objective metrics.

We own that arse in historical record and they need us to be down for a very long time to catch up.
Since it doesn't look like we will be, and their brinks-truck coaching philosophy is underwhelming so far, they're going through some serious cope.

How many games of this team have you watched, including last year?

And if Florida doesn’t turn it over against aTm, the Aggies are a 2 loss team.
A&M and Florida each had one turnover in that game, and A&M has superior passing offensive efficiency, rushing offensive efficiency, defensive efficiency and we outgained them by 140 yards. Not only is it NOT comparable at all, you just pointed to an instance where the team you expect to beat clearly outplayed and defeated a top 5 team WITHOUT a beneficial turnover margin.

I like Pittman. Would trade Gus, Chad and Nix for him.

This year? All four
Last year? Ole Miss, CSU, A&M, Auburn, Bama, LSU IIRC

They did hold OM to 4-16 on third downs. But I agree that turnover margin isn't sustainable. Otoh at least they are taking advantage of it, I think LSU was +7 against MSU and Mizzou and still lost

Our defense is extremely well prepared and is smothering receivers and jumping routes
The defense is playing smart, but they’re also playing almost exclusively cover 2 and cover 3 cloud shell zone and keeping everything in front of them. When they aren’t throwing INTs, teams have moved the ball fairly easily through the air in 5-10 yard increments. And the run defense is not good at all. Odom is betting on teams not being to drive the field in small increments without making mistakes, and it’s worked so far because a couple QBs kept throwing them the ball out of frustration.
And with respect to the defense forcing TOs, half the INTs are considered unforced by advanced metrics (meaning pressure or making a play on a well placed ball were not the cause). Ole Miss and State just threw balls to defenders sitting in their zones in many cases.
Fisher has shown he has no issue handing it off 50 times and taking that 5-6 YPG all the way down the field. He won’t force Mond to throw 50 times in 7-8 man deep zone.

Nice of you to show back up after what, a year? Convenient timing these last few weeks

Florida only ran 56 plays total against A&M bc yall ran so much

To have watched those games and not be able to honestly admit this team is better is a 100% lie on your behalf. You can make stats say whatever you want to believe but the eye test tells a much different story.

Auburn rushed for 260 yards. I expect Fisher to run it down their throats

And we basically went into a shell after getting up two scores on State, because Spiller and Smith were averaging 6+ YPC. I think we threw like 6 total passes after the TD that put us up 21-7.
If Arkansas plays cover 3 shell with 6 in the box all day we’ll run for 300 yards and hold the ball for 40 minutes, because Arkansas can’t stop it without extra defenders and unlike Kiffin/Leach Fisher isn’t beholden to the pass and big plays.

Yall are the same every year. Start off well just to have the late season collapse. So if we are the same but different this year and we should have beat yall last year then we will beat yall by 2 TDs this year after we figure in our interceptions Mond is going to throw to us.

Luckily 2019 Arkansas should have beaten Texas A&M so they won’t have to be much better.
