Im not saying he was wrong about bama. I to think that. Im here to fix the narrative that mizzou doesn't have a lot of experience this year. Many people think the top 5 recruiting class we had will all be starters.

Agree - people seem to be under the impression Counzo came in and ran off everyone from the last few seasons.

Ya but Tennessee fans told me he had a NC team and only went to the Sweet 16

ya literally, if we were allowed to pick 4 people to keep from last years team, I would have picked the four that are still here.

Look, I like Phillips and Barnett. But, to me, a solid test to see how much each team is really relying on freshman is to put together a lineup without them

Bama could throw out

AJ Jr
Ingram
Norris
Key
Hall

With Giddens, Scaffer, and Davis as depth. And that's not a bad lineup.

Mizzou would be something like

Phillips
Robertson
Barnett
Puryear
Nikko

With VanLeer and Geist as depth. Mehhhhh

So for me it's not that Mizzou doesn't have experience. It's that they're more reliant on freshmen.

Like I said earlier, in no way am I denying what bama has going on, I just think mizzou is getting overlooked in the experience category.

Personally, Id take a trio or Phillips Barnett and Puryear over any top 3 from bama. and that doesnt include robertson who averaged 17 ppg last year bc ive never seen him play. Mizzou has 4 players who could all be starters, easily, but because of how good the 5 FR players we brought in are, who knows. My two deep would be:

PG Phillips(jr) Harris(fr)
SG Robertson(sr) Roberts(fr)

F Barnett(sr) Puryear(jr) these four all interchangeable.
F MPJ(fr) Porter(fr)

C Tilmon(fr) Nikko(so)

we, and I know bama will say the same thing, love the balance of superstar FR and upperclassmen.

The SEC is back!

I really can't wait for things to get started. The league is going to be a blast this year.

so deep. Hopefully OOC plays well for the SEC. could be a lot of L's going around in the conf play that could make it hard for some teams come march.

This. There is so much young talent in the league this year.

Wanna feel old? The players were born 1996 or later

The SEC is very deep in talent this year. Legit eight teams could make the tourney.

Can't wait to see my Gators. Should have a really, really good team. Think we will have some issues in the paint early till our big is healed, but the team will gel and only add to it when he gets back in Jan. Defense will need some time from what White has said, but the offense should be better. So should even out.

Florida. We winning it boysssss

Yeah, OOC is huge this year.

The league as a whole to live up to the national perception of it being so deep by actually beating good teams OOC and not just having great coaches "turn thing around" after slow OOC starts.

For all the arguments ranking the teams 1-14, the truth is that a lot of good SEC teams are likely going to end up 9-9 or 10-8 in conference.

Seems there's enough hype to see that garner some NCAA bids if their are some quality OOC wins from everyone.

It really is. So many potentially really good teams in this conference. I know for years I cared more about OOC games because conference games literally didn't have much excitment outside of a few games.

Now...the SEC has an insanely good group of coaches. There will be a ton of amazing games this year in conference and it will really help remove the stigma of SEC basketball.

Pretty sure they won't finish with a better SEC record than these teams. 70% sure.

- Ole Miss

Explain this. Tennessee was better than Ole Miss last season and I’d argue Tennessee has improved its roster more than OM in offseason.

The thing with Auburn is they've been such a miserable defensive team the last few years and it doesn't seem to change at all.

The new additions will help big time. Davion Mitchell and Chuma Okeke are both known for good defense. Mitchell could end up the starter at PG by SEC play, and Okeke might be a starter game 1. Our 3 players who were best on defense last year, Horace Spencer, Bryce Brown, and Anfernee McClomer will all play more minutes this year. Spencer and Brown are the only 3rd yr players on the roster, and McClomore was a true FR last season.
If Austin Wiley can play the defense will improve by a good margin.
