Why is Penn State a Blueblood and Miami isn't? Penn State only has 1 title since the 80s

Miami didn't jack shite before the 80's tho. They were literally one of the worst football programs in college football history until Schnellenberger came along.

OP must be a Tennessee fan from the 1950s

Or a pedophile from the 2010s

Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, USC

And one of Florida State or Miami make number 5

Those are the gods of college football and its hard to figure a way that will ever change

Because a 18 years of success doesn't constitute a "blue blood".

Penn State I dont' think should be one, but I can recall seeing them on the national games when I was young and you'd be lucky to see much college football.

I think they are close but not quite there.

They don't deserve being able to get those 120 wins back that were vacated due to Sandusky.

Nobody hates that shite more than me, but it has nothing to do with football games.

There are 8, no more, no less.

In order

Bama
Notre Dame
Southern Cal
Oklahoma
Ohio State
Michigan
Nebraska
Texas

It is a testament to how dominant Notre Dame used to be that they still hold the #2 slot.

You could quibble over the 4/5 slots, but I think Oklahoma's history is a bit better.

Nebraska and Texas are on the verge of making it 6 instead of 8 with the mediocrity they've had for most of the last couple decades

Why 8? Why not 10? Why not 5?

This is the list. 800 wins at. A 70% win clip. Top 5 is in flux based on " what have you done lately"

Bama is clear 1

Nebraska is on the cusp. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt but they get one more coach to turn it around.

Because of the separation of those programs and everyone else from the standpoint of wins, conference titles, championships and just plain old prestige versus their nearest competitors.
