Agree - that was an eye opener. That is a pretty damned impressive student body population.
85% with a 3.5 or higher, wow

I went to SC in the 80's. Doubtful that I could get in now with that criteria.

Can you do the admission stats for all the SEC schools? Overall acceptance rates can be misleading, and the matriculating student stats (GPA and SAT/ACT) are much more indicative of a school's admission criteria.

Those are somewhat surprising numbers for Carolina. I know that it's had a solid rise in quality of applicants over the last 5-10 years, but that's strong.
Don't have the exact same breakdown for UGA, but First Year class profile for 2015 was pretty impressive:
All based on overall average and those that fall between the 25th and 75th percentile:
Out of a total cohort of 5300:
Also an interesting tidbit that continues to tell the story of transplants in the state of Georgia (only 13% are actually out of state admits):

The Class of 2019 has outstanding academic credentials:
94% took at least one College Board Advanced Placement Course.
More than 16% took college classes while in high school.
More than 95% were in their school's "advanced" or "most difficult" curriculum.
More than 2300 have a core high school GPA of 4.00 or higher. (>43%)
52% were in the top tenth percentile of their high school class.
More than 220 graduated first or second in their class. (4% valedictorian/salutatorian)
Also an interesting tidbit that continues to tell the story of transplants in the state of Georgia (only 13% are actually out of state admits):

Western Arkansas and most all of Texas are not southern. Not a bad or good thing, just a fact.
It's the King of the Hill south, versus the Honey Boo-Boo south.
It's a good thing, IMO.

A state that wants to grow its economy has to pull in out of staters somehow.
That's part of the heavy recruitment and incentives for Texas kids to Arkansas. Texas is a booming state with a large economic gravitational pull. The fact that we are even able to grow our economy and population base here with Dallas and all of its jobs within a mornings drive from here is good work on our part.
If Texas was stagnant, I imagine our growth here would be a lot stronger than it is. Currently we trade a lot of people back and forth.

So, netted out, does that mean it doesn't make sense for you to hold a recruiting camp in some place where there might be only one person in the entire state who wants to cross state lines?
