I sent the email over an hour ago if you posted the right address. I was out for a couple hours before that.

Because there shouldn't be a year where Alabama is signing less than 7-10 in-state kids.

Taking all of them in one class is what caused that lack of depth in the first place.

And we were never in any real trouble last year. Coaches want unlimited depth at all positions obviously. But what is the likelyhood that we wouldve had Henry, Scar and Damien injured at the same time last year? They were all capable of carrying the load. And with Kiffin, if we ended up short, he would've just slung around 50 screen passes a game
Hey it happened before where we was just down to Derrick Henry and that was from an accumulation of classes since 2013 and onward. There was no way Damien Harris was able to shoulder all that load if DH got hurt as Bo was coming off an injury. I understand what you saying and I somewhat agree but at the end of the day its all about competition, the best player starts and I would rather have a lot of guys compete to see who is the best than to just be forced to choose from a guy who is not ready to play yet. Also, theres only so many times you can throw screens before the opponent shuts that down.

Yes, that's why I prefer those scholarships go to positions that you can play more than one on the field at a time. You can only play one running back at a time. Same with qb. I prefer to sign a bunch of O line and D line.
I would rather have more quality d lineman and o lineman than QBs and Rbs as well. But you can have more than one RB on the field at the same time, you can use them for options or for diversions as Kenyan Drake was used as one on occasions.

We are going to be close to that number in this class. You have to remember that Gary Johnson is an Alabama kid too.

Why does it matter? I'm not from Alabama. TS is not from Alabama. And judging from your info under your avatar, you don't live in Alabama. Who gives a frick?

I'm from Alabama (but I likely would have been a disaster as a SEC college football player).

Not sure whose argument that helps.

I guess the losses I caused would have hurt me more than another unqualified kid from Maine.

Each kid is probably different. Some in-state kids who bleed Bama football and have close talent to better out-of-state kids are probably better program takes in the long term. However, there are some out-of-state kids who bleed football that are better takes over in-state kids with similar talent who don't.

I get what you are saying and I get what Cap is saying.

In reality kids from the state of Alabama are less likely to transfer out when passed by on the depth chart than out of state kids. I mean, shite. We have a potential starter in the secondary wanting to transfer. If he was an in-state kid he wouldn't be even considering it.

And Sandkhan is right in some regard as well. Taking the better player from out of state makes sense when there isn't a comparable talent in state. But he's an a-hole so his opinion is shite.

I don't think these kids try harder because they're from Alabama when they play for Alabama. This isn't some 1948 shite. Mark Ingram is the BIGGEST Alabama fan as a former player of the Saban era. Shaun Alexander was the same in his day.

It's not about where you're from. It's about where you want to be. That's the place you'll love and grind for

I don't look at it as them playing harder being from Alabama. I look at it that they are more likely to stay to allow us to have depth if they aren't starters.

Have you seen the crazy stat regarding the last 8 presidential elections and their correlation with the Alabama - L5U game outcome in the election years?

Its always best to have enough in state players on your team, it helps in recruiting and keeps the college as a pipeline. Also, a lot of out most noteworthy talent has been instate: Reggie Ragland, TJ Yeldon, Julio Jones, Dre Kirkpatrick, Reuben Foster, Daron Payne, etc

My main concern is pretty personal and I'm not going to lie.

In Bush's last year in office, military members got a 3.9% raise in January. The last 3 years under Obama our pay has increased by 1.1%. That's 3 years worth of inflation raises that total less than 1 year of Bush's administration.

It's simple. I want bigger raises again.

ETA: I realize this is confusing. Under Obama we've gotten a 1.1% raise for the last 3 years for a total of 3.3%. Bush gave us 3.9% his last year in office.
