Why does it matter? I'm not from Alabama. TS is not from Alabama. And judging from your info under your avatar, you don't live in Alabama. Who gives a frick?
Because it is vital to continue in-state ties. There won't always be a Saban leading the program.

Conliffe is currently silently committed. As we've seen with Ignont, Stevens and others.....that can change......but that is how it stands right now.
As for Jeudy, he is and was always going to Bama. Consider him in th Vandarius Cowan level of commit. We still take visits to enjoy the process, but ain't going anywhere else no matter what other reporters say. Many do this because a player is big time and any mention of their name leads to hope and link clicks.

Some things cant be taught. I watched conliffe film last week here is what I saw:
A dude with weak hands, lacking physicality, and worst of all takes questionable angles to the football. Looked like a player that would get mauled in the trenches vs sec lineman. Absolutely nothing about his game suggested Bama material imo. No mean streak/plays soft.
Folks are saying he has matured, or "the light has come on," but i'd have to see it to believe it.
Sterling > conliffe
Sterling on the other hand is about the exact opposite. Not sure how hes a 3 star.

Is Stevens silently committed to Bama?

No. All the 2 & 3 stars are.

No, but he was supposedly privately committed to UGA not too long ago. Now they are thought to be totally out of the running for him.

Reading other teams boards , they honestly think just because us getting Juedy would make D. Smith go elsewhere.

Welp. Kipp Adams CB'd Stevens to L5U. I guess they are going to get him.

We did get more CBs for Jeudy, along with one each for Kendall Randolph and Kyriq McDonald.

That would make sense under normal circumstances. They are really similar prospects and are from different states (so not a public package deal or anything like that)...
Good thing Alabama under Saban doesn't recruit under normal circumstances, LOL!!! RTR!

Which "conservative" country would you move to? The ones that readily come to mind are not places I want to live.
Don't know if it's "conservative" or not per say...but I'd move to Amsterdam or Zurich, Switzerland.

So I'm curious on this board's opinion regarding these two prospects, Aaron Sterling and Elijah Conliffe. Both are 3-stars. Right now. One is trending heavily to Alabama while the other is committed but projected to go elsewhere. Based on film alone who would you prefer? Sterling Conliffe Aaron Sterling ETA: I fricked this one up and didn't add Sterling's highlights.
It's tit for tat for me
The reason (I believe) Conliffe is so much more dominant looking is because of his speed, explosiveness and fluidity. That "bend" and technique is something he makes look natural. He would project a lot better as a OLB than a lot of guys you generally see on film. Some things he needs work on are tackling technique (tends to be a bit lazy in wrapping up) and vision (relies too heavily on technique, needs to learn his eyes ands instincts a little more)
Sterling is a solid all-around guy at DE to me. He has OK - good technique, great upper body strength and knows how to bully guys around, and has from the film what looked like great instincts and solid tackling skill. He is not a guy that wows you with his talent, but will make a roster and even be an impact (think a younger Jarran Reed) guy because he does a lot of thing collectively well, but you aren't going to get a Tim Williams or Myles Garrett out of him.
I like Conliffe as a project guy (worked well with TWill) and Bama NEEDS a guy like Sterling on the roster to push guys, provide good depth, and even early on some scout team nastiness and once they've paid their dues hopefully get to rotate in and contribute.
Just my .02

Everyone knows that those two are being recruited, especially the two of them, for two different spots. Fans want to view things in the best light for their program.........but no way either one of them doesn't commit simply because the other one did.
do they really think Saban has been lying to each of them about their intent on taking both? Like I said, it's about giving their fans "hope". Ain't happening.

One of the premier playmakers in the 2017 cycle will come off the board on Thursday when 4-star receiver Jerry Jeudy announces his commitment, according to Ryan Bartow of 247Sports.
The 6’1”, 177-pounder from Deerfield Beach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida, will choose from a group of finalists that includes Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Tennessee.
Jeudy, who hauled in 41 receptions for 496 yards and 10 touchdowns as a junior, has been one of the biggest standouts on the spring and summer camp circuit.
As Barton Simmons of 247Sports noted, Jeudy had a dominant showing at The Opening earlier this month.
Will the talented Sunshine State pass-catcher stay in state and play for one of the big three programs in Florida or will SEC heavyweights Alabama and Tennessee lure him away from home?
Let’s break down the odds for his finalists.
Tennessee: 15-1
Jeudy has taken at least three visits to Knoxville in the last year, with his latest visit coming a month ago for the Vols' Orange Carpet Day event, as noted by Ryan Callahan of 247Sports.
With head coach Butch Jones recently losing out on in-state 5-star receiver Tee Higgins—who picked Clemson over the Vols earlier this month—landing an elite pass-catcher such as Jeudy becomes a bigger priority.
The Vols have 23 commitments in the 2017 class, including pledges from three pure receivers.
With precious few spots left in their class, Jones and his staff would love to round out their receiver group with Jeudy.
Florida State: 12-1
Of his group of finalists, Florida State is the only program that hasn’t gotten a visit from Jeudy in the last month.
That doesn’t mean that the electric South Florida star is unfamiliar with the Seminoles program.
He’s made a pair of visits to Tallahassee and was also present for Florida State's spring game in Orlando, as reported by Josh Newberg of Noles247.
However, it appears as if head coach Jimbo Fisher and his staff are on the outside looking in with regards to holding momentum heading into Jeudy’s announcement.
Florida and Miami: 10-1
While Jeudy hasn’t been to Tallahassee recently, he was present for camps at both Miami and Florida earlier this month.
The Hurricanes are enjoying a bit of a resurgence under new head coach Mark Richt, and the thought of staying close to home could be appealing to Jeudy.
He was absolutely dominant at the Gators’ Friday Night Lights camp last week, as evidenced by this clip of him leaving a poor defensive back in the dust in the one-on-one portion of the event.
The Gators only have one receiver committed in their current class, while the Hurricanes already have three pass-catchers locked in.
Both programs could pitch Jeudy on the idea of coming in early and making an impact as a freshman. But will that be enough to keep him from leaving the state?
Alabama: 5-1
The one constant program among Jeudy’s list of favorites has been Alabama.
As BamaOnline’s Hank South detailed, the thought of following in the footsteps of former Tide All-American Amari Cooper and current star receiver Calvin Ridley—both of whom are South Florida natives—is appealing to Jeudy.
Another benefit for Tide head coach Nick Saban and his staff is the chemistry he enjoyed with 4-star quarterback and current Tide pledge Tua Tagovailoa at The Opening.
“[Jeudy] is an awesome player,” Tagovailoa said of his connection with Jeudy at The Opening. “That relationship couldn’t have started if I didn’t feed him the ball or if the coaches didn’t call plays for him.”
Heading into his announcement, the Crimson Tide are the heavy favorites, as reflected on his 247Sports Crystal Ball page.
While landing elite talents isn’t an easy feat, Saban and his staff appear primed to land another dynamic prospect in Jeudy when he makes his decision on Thursday.

You can't be serious. There are usually not 7-10 top players in state to justify that. This isn't the Shula years anymore.
