That's like the 3rd school he has committed to at this point.

I'm willing to take a chance and be #4.

I just watched the Britto Tutt highlights for the first time. What am I missing? Impressive athleticism, size, and football IQ. Anyone know why he was so lightly recruited?

Wasn't he a late qualifier, or surprise qualifier or something along those lines? Seems to be what I remember...

I think that's right. RazorHawg would know best. He's the one to ask.

Tutt was a HS qualifier that went to Juco and some programs like ours (Rhoads had a connection IIRC) went after him this spring when realizing 4 to play 3 opportunity.

After NSD the recruiting services move on to the next bunch they can hype for camps and make subscription money off.

Don't make the Top 10 for Anthony Hines. RD's gotta find him a new unobtainable golden pony to ride now.

We're gonna have to win some big recruiting battles a couple times a cycle to take the next step eventually.

How far do we think the 'get the coachable 3*'s with good character and coach them up' system can get us? That is probably going to be the 'norm' for our recruiting. We'll get the occasional 4* or two or three, and a rare 5* too maybe.
This is not really a knock on CBB and staff, I think it's just a reality for Arkansas football, no matter who the coach is.

It'll never get us to the mountaintop. We'll just be hanging around basecamp complaining about our busted gear.

I wish we'd go the Ole Miss route.

It's the only way we'll ever be more than a top 25 class program. Even then, we probably wouldn't be as successful as even then when it comes to recruiting because we aren't as near the talent.

Stanford has had some damn good years with classes made up of 3 stars. Their style is really similar to ours.

That plus our classes many times being higher ranked than theirs gives me hope we can compete for a national championship doing things the way we currently are.

Stanford plays Pac12 defenses and can get away with it.

I'm thinking of the year they beat Oregon when Oregon was ripping through everyone

They also knocked of sc in years that sc was believed to be invincible.

They same logic that they don't have to face sec defenses can be used that Arkansas does not have to face pac12 offenses.

I think CBB's philosopy/system probably gives us about as good of a chance as we're going to get, given the the realities that we will have to work with. Just don't know how far that is.

I do acknowledge however, that with the wrong person in here recruiting could easily get a lot worse.

Our best options as Arkansas are CBB's method or the Ole Miss method

Neither method is guaranteed success, but one is guaranteed not to get you penalized by the NCAA.

And imo CBB's method is more conducive to long term success and sustainability

Some folks don't like him, I already know that..

But Ken Hatfield was one of the best at doing a lot with a little back in his day. May not have won the big ones all that often, but would get us to 10 wins.
