Why do we have such problems locking down the best in-state players that aren't super elite athletes?

It seems the better the player the better a shot we have at them, but those good ones just under the top tier players fall for the shine of more recently successful programs.

Maybe they don't have the chest... Easier to be a practice player while collecting a ring or two and hope they get to play one or two years at most.

I hope Bama locks up a spot with Byers.

Although knowing them they would find away to get him in school.

It's funny because at one point last year everyone thought Agim was a lock to go elsewhere but we landed him. Now Brown was thought to be an Arkansas lock after declaring us his dream school and yet he is most likely going elsewhere. It's weird how some of the stuff works out.

Garland commits to Arkansas.

Strong class, was already ranked in the top 10 BB recruiting classes.

ETA: 5th nationally, 1st in SEC (until KY gets their one-and -dones.)

Sounds like we are trying to get in on Garrison Brooks.
Read that we have offered, even though it doesn't show it yet on his 247 profile.

Glad to see Mike recruiting. He severely needed a good blue chip class to follow his JUCO class.

Congrats to Mike. I guess that makes him 3 for 3 with in-state recruits this year.

That's a big turnaround and hopefully something he can build on.

Some folks say his parents want him to go to Okie State. There is so many rumors around this kid though so who knows. I'm starting to get the feeling that it's going to be drama with this one.

Does his dad post of message boards?

Those high star recruits always turn out to be legit, Frazier, Mustain, the kid who went to Ohio State, etc.

All highly ranked, all surrounded by drama, all had parents posting on hog boards through out the "process", the first two proved to be busts.

I don't have a lot of faith in Texarkana area kids wanting to be Razorbacks.

For some reason we kinda gave up on that area and it has coincided with our decline.

hope ain't that far from Texarkana

mike gets a bed rep. when he has time to develop real relationships he's not that bad of a recruiter. Monk wasn't coming to arkansas as long as Marcus was in the picture and KeVaughn made it known he wanted otu of the state. coach K wouldn't have kept kevaughn in arkansas. if i were a recruit as much as i love the hogs i'd want to experience something different and would probably head out of state to a bigger city / environment. i've thought about it and if i were a.. 4 star recruit i'd probably head to somewhere like Arizona state
