I would say there is a big difference between the late 80's SWC and the current SEC.

No doubt, but but there was a lot of difference in the players as well. We were not the most talented team in the old SWC in Hatfield's particular era either.

Not at all. Personally, I love Bielema and his style. I hope he keeps improving us so he stays here for awhile. I think he'll be able to do that as long as we keep staying in the top 25 class range. This years class though does have me a little nervous.

It's not going to be ranked in the top 30 unless we finish with a bang or some of these commits blow up this season. Hoping it's a case of great early evaluations.

And Colorado and late pushes from UCLA and Southern Cal.
It's the SEC. You can never have too many bodies on the DL or at DE.

Not a huge need for this season, but nice to have another body for Herb to work with before we need him.
Couldn't tell from the article, but does he have 4 to play 3 or has he already used a redshirt year in JC and only have 3 to play 3?

Remember when I said Bert was being lazy this summer? Well Michigan coaches were at 39 camps while we were at 5.
We pulled 3 commits from those camps that they attributed to the camps being the reason those kids got the offers.
Imagine if we had just hit 10 how beneficial that might have been. He's really missing a huge opportunity that is painfully necessary for a school like Arkansas in a less than deep talent pool type of state.

Michigan was the exception and not the norm. Some SEC schools didn't do any at all. I think we could have done a few more than 3 but 39 is just stupid.

What's the latest on Montaric Brown?
Alabama had their only true DB in this class decommit today. Some speculation that our staff knew it was coming and asked Brown to push his announcement back. Have y'all heard the same?

A couple of planned camps got yanked out from under us, (New Orleans, Jerry World) don't know if they got replaced at that late date so I guess we at least tried for 7 camps.

There's no excuse for not having been able to have found a way to continue with those camps.
Hell man you and I could have put together a camp in those cities. The facilities we would have had to use wouldn't have been great but at the end of the day does it really matter how nice the fields and locker rooms are if it means fostering connections in areas we desperately need to improve recruiting in.

The fact that you need another college to "host" for these camps is a joke. The entire purpose of it was to keep programs like us from making inroads into neighboring states if our peers in said states don't want that.

May could have found another school that wasn't in the aTm system, but it was pulled kind of late.
The Louisiana deal was from higher up I believe.

I don't think it's a forgone conclusion, but it looks more plausible than a week ago. But him pushing his date back again in intriguing. Any reason to think someone other than Alabama or Arkansas has a shot?

Some folks say his parents want him to go to Okie State. There is so many rumors around this kid though so who knows. I'm starting to get the feeling that it's going to be drama with this one.
