Cammy Cam plays the race card: Being an African-American QB ... scares people by rockiee quote: “I’m an African-American quarterback that may scare a lot of people because they haven’t seen nothing that they can compare me to,”

That doesn't even make sense. Is he saying that there have never been great black QBs before him and why would that scare us?

What some people probably don't like about him is his shady past (stealing, getting dismissed from one school and having his Dad shop him around to others);
not JUST because of his arrogant selfish antics on the field.
It is commendable what he does in the community off the field. He doesn't need to show his arse.

How about Doug Williams, Randall Cunningham, Warren Moon, Vince Young, et al.

Moon threw one of the prettiest balls in NFL history. Tough as nails and humble to a fault.

Cunningham could run and throw. He was quotable, but not controversial.

Doug Williams was outspoken, but not negatively. He was very proud of being first black SB-winning QB

Vince Young could do it all, but may have not been as stable mentally as the others.

Daunte Culpepper could throw hard and run pretty well, but was injury prone.

RGIII could do it all in college, but hasn't transitioned smoothly into NFL yet. but has never complained.

We despise him for shite like this. Ever seen another "grown man" pull off this gesture? All about Cam, always.

After the "Preacher Man" and "Take the money and run" UA endorsed antics by the athletic department, I thought is showed a lot of class by not giving them the finger and telling them to frick off.

Dirk in his prime was as good as any. He was NEVER the face of the NBA.

So, it's okay for a sport that is primarily black, but in other things i.e. the Oscars... something has to change, this is racist.

It's reverse-racism at its finest, and it's getting old. Really old.

So I guess Jerry West being the NBA logo is just a non factor lol

I remember talking heads, fans of other schools (especially on here) etc all saying Cam didn't have the "brains" to be a successful NFL QB and that his athletic ability alone wouldn't cut it in the NFL. Not to mention the troubles he had while at UF.

Hilarious that these Bama fans and others in this thread are now saying no one doubted him since he's so gifted.

Rant, never change...

You realize that a movie that grosses a lot of money doesn't mean the actors are better, right.

Action movies tend to gross a lot more. Fast furious grossed a lot. The acting wasn't Oscar worthy.

He also wasn't the best player in the league, dummy.

Good Stuff, I could use boxing as well. There is always the next, "Great White Hype". The point is guys are being celebrated simply because of their race. Others are being disparaged because of theirs and its not the same race.

FWIW, I am a white republican, if that matters at all

Are there any roadblocks to entry?

Well, there is racism and sexism in the Oscars. They dont need to forcibly include someone on the nominations, but the process behind the scenes to get to that point is biased. if you cant see it, then you need to learn about the process

Never seen a "grown up" university taunt an individual opposing player over their stadium sound system, either. You asked for it. This post was edited on 1/28 at 12:06 pm

It was a student worker who was promptly fired.

I haven't seen this much former player dick riding since AJ McCarron was starting for the Bengals.

And it ain't exactly a secret.

I mean, IDGAF who wins what awards (I'm an easily entertained bloke ), but to deny it's there is kinda silly.

Isn't that sweet. You Auburn guys cult following of this guy is amazing.

As for Namath not too many "establishment" types were thrilled with his white shoes, and on field bravado either.

They were more concerned with his Mink Coat, nylon stockings commercials, long hair and sideburns and his lifestyle. Remember the NFL was owned and covered by a bunch of old fricks during that period. Some are still around.

People just need to admit that racism is EVERYWHERE on all sides.

Why?

Because you want him to be?

Because all of his actions off the field put the lie to what you're saying.

"Oh, but he's not really doing all those things because he has a good heart! It's all just PR!"

OK then... bring us some proof of that you little bitch.

I don't like it, but as referenced in the original thread, go look at the number of "n words" directed at him in his Twitter mentions and it might change your mind a little bit.

Didn't you hear? Racism has been stamped out of existence.

There is no more racism, brah.

Scrooster hates him because he's black and he's cocky. And he doesn't even realize it. It's called blind racism. You almost can't blame folks like that; it's been ingrained in them from a young age.

Cam was a student who went on to win the Heisman, the NC, and drafted number 1. Wonder what that Bama student is doing today?

The fact the kid was fired doesn't change the fact the two songs were played. It also doesn't change the fact the Adult fans threw monopoly money onto the field.
