I remember Lee Corso pleading with Spurrier not to go to to Columbia, it is a coach killer. lol
I could recruit kids to Columbia ad SC though, if I was coach there. Spurrier isn't a good salesman.

Spurrier has never recruited well. He can work wonders with a little bit of talent, but when Lattimore and Clowney aren't on his team, he doesn't really know what to do. It was so easy at Florida... players just came to him.

Clemson had issues on defense and mediocre o-line, first two years of SC streak Clemson wasn't very good at all, prior to Boyd.
the last year it was a normally reliable WR, humphries (now in the NFL on tampa bay) dropping two punt returns that set up SC for easy scores.

ya'll were in like every SEC game that you played and lost, plus beat UGA and Florida, then Miami in a bowl game.
Clemson was only defense to shut down Dylan Thompson like that.
Clemson defense was horrible during most of SC's run, was solid the last year. one of the teams you beat is the one that gave up 70 to WV
