I will say it like this, JJ was the main problem that could have been fixed by benching him before tonight. at this point guys are starting to quit and Gus is about to lose this team.

This all day. I said it last week and I'll say it again. I get that JJ has been awful, but our plays in the passing game are on a junior high level.

It's hard to say that when the QB is incapable of throwing a hitch route without skipping the ball. Oregon and Baylor don't have super sophisticated passing attacks with receivers having multiple options with their routes, and they put up great numbers. The simplicity of Malzahn's passing offense, relative to other offenses, is overstated.

It's not really hard to say that. This passing game is dependent on a good running game. No one is scared of us on the ground, so it makes the simplistic passing plays that much easier to defend.

Generally it's the other way around. Success in one helps the other. However, it's clear that no one is worried about the passing game. Thus, they are stacking the box for the run.

Biggest problem is our coach only knows how to coach one time of team. That team requires a mobile QB. Pathetic

Gus' passing game has always been opened up by a good running game. We haven't been good in either. This offense will not improve until we start moving the ball better on the ground.
Don't confuse this for me giving JJ a pass because he has been terrible. I just think there is more to the problem than just his terrible play so far.

That's not really a rational assessment. JJ's problem has not been that receivers aren't open, or that defenses are keying in on the pass. He just can't make reads, throws, or see defenders. The passing plays have been open to hit. Auburn is running the ball about as well as they'll ever be able to considering JJ's ineptitude.

I don't know what you've been watching, but I don't see WRs running around wide open out there. I think Duke Williams ran the same route about 85% of the time against Jacksonville State last weekend and that's exactly why JJ threw that pick on the play meant for Duke in that game.

Nobody is running wide open. Our offense is hot fricking garbage high school shite.
WE ARE WITHOUT A DOUBT THE MOST PREDICTABLE OFFNSE IN CFB....sry not sry

Exactly, the defense doesn't even have to guess where our WRs are going. They already know.

As stated previously, on almost every bad throw there has been an open receiver that JJ has missed.

I'm just not seeing all of these wide open receivers that you're talking about. I sat in the endzone against Jack State and they weren't there.

I honestly don't remember much of the JSU game, as it wasn't worth paying much attention to, but there were throws there during the LSU and Louisville games. Again, before saying such things, you should take a look at other successful passing offenses. Hell, even the Colts, during Manning's time there, were known for having a relatively simplistic passing offense. Do you think Alabam runs a complicated passing attack, when half of their completions are shallow crossing routes and screens?

The Colt's offense doesn't consist of the same guys constantly running the same routes. I guess predictable is a better word than simplistic. Although, I think that both apply.

Feel free to actually break down the film and diagram the route combinations, but what is obvious is that JJ has been atrocious.

WE were predictable in 2013 as well. Everyone knew what was coming. They just could not stop it.
Our guys are just not getting the job done. I believe in the system if we get the right guys in there and they do the job. We have the wrong guy at QB for our system and I have been saying that for a fricking year. Gus's system is not magic but if he has the right guy at QB, RB and HBack, it works. We just have to concentrate on recurring those guys and not try to develop he system that doesn't need changing
Don't give me the Chris Todd passed all over the field shite. We didn't win a thing with Chris Todd.
We won with Cam and Nick.

You have to bench people that aren't performing. It doesn't matter the position. It doesn't ruin anyone. It's worse to let a guy struggle so much. A series or 2 with White may have made him understand the importance of playing better. Plus White may be great. Worth trying.
Defense sucks and didn't play hard today. No excuse. That replay of Ford was embarrassing. 2011 type of day.
Play calling has been poor but I think that is in part to avoid disaster with some plays.

Never said he wasn't terrible, but I disagree with the thought that he is the sole problem with this offense.

Let's just say he's 90% of the problem. You can claim to the contrary, but you'd be wrong.
