Defacing?

I'm sure they got 6 months.

His attorney knew it was a possibility. Says in the article he argued against jail time. Apparently wasn't convincing enough.
ETA: And FWIW, I somewhat agree with you. But I can see what Henry is saying as well from the OM perspective.

And this was vandalism. Give him a hefty fine, have him do some community service, put it on his record, and let's move on

Gotta crack down on this bullshite. He was obviously trying to intimidate a specific race of people. Dude will hopefully learn his lesson and knock that shite off.

That sentence can go a long way in ole miss' efforts to convince recruits that racism is dying out there

He didn't deface anything.

Prison though? Yes, he's a racist POS but prison?

So many people on the "He did something I don't like therefore send him to jail!" train.
The only crime here was petty vandalism, a few hundred dollar fine was in order.

Defacing property? What did he deface? The noose could be lifted off the statue. No damage whatsoever. This is an example of political correctness gone amok.

Prison is harsh, but the daily anal rape from multiple black dudes is probably worse.

Sure, but prison? Make him volunteer in black communities. Expose him to different cultures. There are so many other options that are beneficial to everyone involved than prison.

Giving him a hefty fine is not letting him off easy
Posted on 9/17/15 at 10:06 pm to Henry Jones Jr
Pre Michael Brown he gets a fine and community service.

That is also NOT protected speech or expression.
I think the kid needed some jail time to get that bullshite out of his system. Going light on this guy would not have done him any favors and I certainly would not want to be the judge who let a racist jackass off easy in Mississippi.

Doing something stupid that harms no one nor damages property is not against the law. This is crazy. And you guys supporting this shite don't understand how fricked up this is.

His sentence is a bigger threat to the U.S. than what he did.
