re: Ole Miss fans: Why so confident considering how the team finished last year.

I also saw this yesterday:
We may not have played THE toughest schedule in the country but we definitely played one of the toughest... Playing opponents that good almost always pays off the next season.

Rebel opponents had the highest collective win percentage (.694) of any team in the nation.

the problem with Ole miss is the same problem they had last year. they are one of the 2 least physical teams in the west. (looking at you A&M) as the season wore on so did the injuries and the lack of talented depth showed. I read a state where like the left side of your line netted like 2 more yards per run play than the right side did. in saying that though the right side only netted like 2.2 yards per play which means tunsil is the only person on your whole line. as good as your defense was, it wasn't a very physical defense and that goes back to how unphysical your offense is. it's tough to get physical when you don't practice physical. I expect the season for you guys to go down about the same as last year but with a worse offense.

How many times can you say physical in one paragraph?
And what the frick is this?

Pretty misinformed post. Of the three most physical offenses the Rebels saw last year (LSU, Arkansas, and State), Arky had 50 carries for only 3.2 yards per carry and state had 47 for 3.5. Only LSU had any kind of success in the power game. Ole Miss' defense is among the most physical in the country. You don't have that kind of statistical success in this league and with that schedule otherwise. It isn't a physical offense and never will be. It's been pretty successful though.

The few highlight plays aside, tons of stats bear out that the Rebs were one of the most physical teams in the country. As will your eyeballs if you watch game film. OM led the nation in goal to go defense. Great stat and definitely a physical indicator. Only giving up tds in roughly 42 percent of such situations. Again, best in the nation. but yeah, every team had a few highlights. Auburn way more than anyone else.

umm your defense was bludgeoned to death by LSU and arkansas. your defense was not physical enough to stop a real physical offense. RK looked like a punk throwing a fit as we pushed his sh*t in.

He's right. Other than those 30 points the hogs scored, it was a pretty close game.
I like the whine about the weather. Can you do that one again?

The defense was placed in short-field situations all night by the shitty offense.
Arkansas only averaged 3.2 YPC. That's not a bludgeoning.
LSU absolutely pounded us, though.

3.2 yards a carry and we didn't have our qb for half the game either. also you want to blame it on your qb playing with a bum ankle... guess what he played because even with a bum ankle he was better than any of your back ups fully healthy. I seen a preview of your offense this year last year in Fayetteville. the answer for you guys is not enrolled at thus time.

Is English your native language? This is a mess.
You didn't have your QB - big whoop. He's not nearly as integral a part of your offense as ours is.
And you're bringing up pointless shite. We know our season hinges on our QB. Duh. What we're defending here is the statement that our defense wasn't physical, which is just horse shite.
The only offense that truly shredded them was LSU. Even TCU was helped tremendously by our offense completely shitting the bed and giving them 20 yard fields all night.

technically tcu had good field position all day since it was a mid day game.

Well I drank like it was last call for the entire game so I don't remember.

Who said anything about it being a close game? You're gonna get your butt kicked by anyone when you turn the ball over six times on the road. Maybe you think the defense is not physical and you can prove it by how many times Ole Miss gave you the football? Strange

Every body is crippled during and after playing LSU, girly went out at half time ,Melvin was hurt at half time, ole miss was down at least three players at half time,LSU half backs are team killers !

OM 'might' win 10 games if a lot of questions have positive answers. If not, OM could be at the bottom of the west!!!! Heard it here first!!
LSU 'might' win 10 games if their QBs don't shite the bed...and they can't afford any injuries on the DL...aaaaand their DEs better get a heckuva lot better at pressuring the QB.
See how that goes? We can play that game with every program in the conference.

Their defense. Their schedule.
Good receivers. Good coaching.

I don't understand why Ole Miss fans are as cocksure about this season as they are. Enlighten me please.
Beating Alabama usually gives fanbases temporary delusions of grandeur (see A&M after 2012).

Explain to me why Arkansas should be so confident after they won 2 SEC games and beat a horrible Texas team?
If you can't understand the progression the Arkansas program is making and made throughout the season there is no helping you.
The eyeball test. It's what they looked like in the way they won those games. If they can execute their game plan to the best of their abilities, they are just like LSU, a giant waiting to erupt.
