Here's a big problem: the day GA secedes you better strap in for riots. Who's going to pay all those govt welfare program recipients?

I mean that's going to happen anyway to the whole country but you need a plan

The riots won't happen immediately...it will take about 30 days for the merchants and landlords in Georgia to realize that their customers and tenants ain't got no money....then the independent, rugged individuals will definitely be in the streets demanding that their customers and tenants get their checks from Washington so they go on pretending to be "entrepenuers"....

I ain't the kids who would be put out by not getting the check...it will be Wal-mart and the apartment complex and the auto manufacturers and the cell phone company and the cable company and all of the contractors who support them....they are gonna be pissed off when the realize they have voted themselves off the New York and California tax payers teat....and will be begging to be let back in....

2 of the 4 are the beneficiaries of a direct stipend from tax payers in progressive states. One of the other 2 is exactly net neutral....only one of them is actually paying more to the US than getting in return...Texas. and, by the way, by less than 3%. The independent, rugged, job creating "Republicans" in the south are none of the three. They are self aggrandizing beneficaries of federal spending. If you take that federal money out of the economies of the red states and put it back in the blues states where it comes from the red states would have to go begging for help from the blue states. Red state republicans are like recalcitrant teenagers throughout the history of mankind....living in Mama and Daddy's house, eating their food, driving their car and bitching about how stupid mama and daddy are and how they are so much smarter. The Red State republicans don't want independence...if they did they could have it in spades...what they want is to be able to receive as much federal money from California and New York as possible with as few strings attached as possible....just keeping it real, yo.....

And I'm assuming you think this is a healthy economy? One where the majority of commerce is supported by government subsidies....which is paid for by debt?

I agree with you by the way....almost every state in the union received more than it contributes....mostly because of the unfunded promises made to seniors via SS and Medicare. The exceptions are states with small populations or centers for highly profitable business. Does it feel funny relying on Wall Street to bank enough taxes so as to make your "blue state" argument legit? Or those common folk that own Google or Facebook? As the population ages...every state will be upside down....the numbers just don't work.

The truth is our whole country is addicted to govt subsidies and debt. The govt teat is a good analogy....but I prefer the crack addict that was first approached in grade school by the dealer who was trying to shore up his customer base for the future.

Also, your point about what happens when the money runs out is pretty accurate too. What your missing though is that this isn't just a "what if" scenario, it will happen on a national level due to all of the federal and local obligations that will be unable to be paid because the numbers are just too big to manage. I really don't think its a matter of "if"...but "when".

Good times ahead - thanks progressives!

Not this shite again. If I never have to read your insipid bumper sticker theory again I'll be a better person for it.

I don't know if we have the same theory but most Presidents are elected because they have the best bumper sticker design

And he actually thinks GA will secede by itself. He also thinks the feds are channeling money from his progressive utopias to give to the lazy good-for-nothing republican states, when the fact is that the extra money going to those states comes from either a printing press or China.

He's an utter moron who deserves none of my time.

It would take an hour just to correct every fallacy, distortion, and outright lie in his 13 hyperventilating posts. And then...............after you did all that........he'll just change gears and spray some new irrelevant fallacy all over the place, and you have to start all over and mop that stuff up. It's pointless.

I think he's actually gotten worse about this in the 2 years since the Pork Barrel went away.

I would say that if a serious talk about secession were to take place, it couldn't be a "leave now" talk. There are a lot of consequences to leaving the union that would need to be accounted for, and it would take a lot of planning to accomplish the smoothest transition possible.

The union didn't allow it last time and they won't allow it if there is a next time.

No one needs to be taught any of this....all the teaching that is required is being taught to read. The information is out there and everything indicates that the rugged, self reliant red state job producers love pork from Washington more than their progressive counterparts in red states....and like ill behaved children through out time these producers resent the hand that feeds them and wants to secede from it...at least the crazier fringe of them do...

Not no but hell no....but the fact of the matter is that in states where secession sentiment is strongest there is more subsidy of commerce from Washington than there is in states with less subsidy. Hell no, Government spending is out of control OR no one in the United States pays enough taxes....since taxes at the federal level or at a pretty low level compared to what they have been the answer is drastic spending cuts and drastic tax increases including user fees and consumer taxes. Secession, especially on the part of the red states, would be akin to going to your friends house, eating his food and breaking up his place and when the mess you made gets to be unbearable you tell him your out of there and he ought to fix his shite. It is Red state and blue state policies that have lead us to this point and now at least some of you on the right in Red states would bail out instead of manning up and admitting your culpability in the scam....and I say good riddance to bad rubbish...Shrug, Atlas, Shrug....your competition will speak kindly of you....

Just like the taxes I am sure you whine about non-stop no one is forcing you to pay them or read my shite...that is on you, my friend...if you don't want to read it don't...I may be wrong but I think you have stated this on a couple of occasions over the years....

OK, your right...so why in the frick are the good, self reliant job producing rugged individuals in those red states in such a position that they need money from your printing press or China in much larger doses than do the lazy scum bag progressives in the blue states? Is it because they are dumber than a sack of hammers? Is this the result of the red states universally being ranked lower in education that their blue state counterparts?

The fact is that the republicans in red states rely more on federal spending than their counterparts in blue states. If that money is coming from the end of the rainbow it makes no difference....red states are more addicted to pork than blue states yet red states are going to secede.....riiiiiiggggghhhhhhhttttttt....
