Yeah, Ima go ahead and beat the rush and predict that they won't come close to the season they had in 2011 - sans the LSU game.

That's fine and dandy and they probably won't be as good as that team, but Bama held them to a whole lot less yards than LSU did. Point is that same system torched the 2011 LSU D early in the season. The same system didn't really torch Bama but they had a pretty good showing.

Alabama
Auburn
LSU
Texas A&M

Whoever runs the table against the other 3 will be number 2 in the country and will most likely be in the playoff. (Gotta beat the east) It's actually good to be ranked at any one of these spots.

I don't think its ridiculous to have LSU in front of A&M, but not how I'd vote it. Both LSU and A&M have a ranking that says "show me". LSU did and did not prove anything. If A&M plays another good team like they did SCe, then they will jump.

Gotta remember a team like Oregon skull drugs teams all the time, then they meet someone that slows them down. In my mind, Bama is king of the hill until someone knocks them off. I know AU, but that really means a couple of victories in a row.

Sorry to not include Ole Miss in there. No disrespect, but I see you winning 1 of these games, 2 if things fall your way. Not high on LSU's chances either, but they have earned a right to be in the discussion.

I assume Alabama is still ranked second due to their previous history. They have proven their ability to continually win, and because of that they have grace by the other coaches. This doesn't excuse their poor showing, but perhaps what we witnessed Saturday won't be a precursor for the rest of the season, but a fluke!

Well one of Oregon/Michigan State will be out of the running this weekend. That is a game I am very much looking forward to watching.

Truth be told, if rankings were based on performance I don't think the top 25 would look like what it does today, let alone the SEC; to be perfectly honest!!!! As far the SEC goes,

aTm did a fantastic job on offense, but really, your defense wasn't as impressive as you think! USCe was completely out-manned on both sides of the ball, but you did what you were supposed to do and did it well, for this game! Would like to see what you guys do against a more balanced team.

Bama, still solid on the offensive side of the ball but as Nick Saban stated, played pretty soft on defense (and yes, I do know and understand that WVU is a legit offense and can put up big numbers, but the "nasty, physical" play from a typical Bama defense wasn't there!

Auburn
, great offensive showing but man Arkansas ran the ball at will against you guys. If that doesn't change going into SEC play, then you will have some serious issues facing teams like UGA, Bama, & LSU!

LSU, "pedestrian" is a nice way of putting the offensive showing against Wisconsin; and although good in the 2nd half, we as LSU fans can't expect to have offensive performances like that and keep up with Bama, Auburn, & aTm!!! Defensively, ahead of most; offensively, still some growing pains.

UGA, looked good, but you didn't really have to pass or defend the pass. You pretty much bullied Clemson with your run game, which is top notch in the SEC in my opinion! Curious if UGA can provide a more balanced attack on offense!

Outside of the 5 SEC teams in the Top 15,

Ole Miss, played okay, but I was not impressed. Similar to LSU, had a slow start and eventually turned it on. Defense looks the part, but we'll see.

As for the rest of the SEC...

I don't see where anyone really did anything impressively other than beat teams you were supposed to beat (those of you who won). No assessment needed.

It was only the first week!!! The 2nd week should be "pancake week" as we all beat up on some scrubs.

I hit the dog on the nose with my laptop the other day, now he won't go near the thing.

In my defense, I was reading the Times Picayune on line at the time.

What if USC loses four games and Wisky runs the table and wins the B1G? Still think that ranking at 12 is a joke? Let it play out.

1. They ran at will against us for a half.
2. How many wins does Bert need to get an SEC invite?

When I see preseason and early polls it reminds me it's still flawed.

I still wish it was 4 conferences (SEC, Big 10, Pac 12, Big 12), conference winner goes to playoff whether they're 12-0 or 9-3. You go. Period.

Then schedule whoever you want on your bye weeks, want to play the best out of conference team there is to make you better, have at it.

And that's not to cut out teams like FSU and Clemson, it's meant to cut out the ACC. FSU and Clemson claim to be SEC quality, then join the SEC or stay in the lesser conference playing in the NIT like playoff.

Just glanced through the posts and chuckled at the angst by folks about our #2 ranking. I'm sure that those same folks are the ones bitching about overreacting to the game results of Week 1.

Amirite? Go ahead, own up to it.

The worst rushing defense in the SEC right now is in Baton Rouge. The tigers are giving up a staggering 6.87 yards per carry with a TD every 13 rush attempts.

Yeah, but so is the best pass efficiency defense.

Balanced is based on yardage or plays called?
