About what I expected. Paraphrase of my post from 31-August:

TAMU will move into Top 15.

We should move into Top 10, but will not because the media is stupid (and the coaches don't do their homework).

(Everyone) collectively decided that we would struggle this year, and it will take more than a single "unexpected" performance for them to shed their preconceptions and accept reality.

Based upon what I saw this weekend, neither Bama nor Auburn is clearly better than A&M, and both are probably marginally-weaker teams. Georgia is probably marginally better at this point in the season. Maybe we will see which is the better team in Atlanta.

With that being said, if TAMU goes to Atlanta, it may well be after a loss to LSU. The head-to-head may favor LSU, but A&M is probably the stronger team overall (e.g. against common opponents). LSU will lose to one or two teams that A&M will probably beat.

I thought the same exact thing. Thank goodness we are going to a 4-team playoff. I never realized how f-ed up a system this was with the BCS, mostly because I just had to accept it as the way of life.

FSU with a near monopoly of first-place votes while UGA has one?

Not saying UGA deserves to be #1, but with the old system, we would have to sit there with our fingers crossed and hope that FSU, Oregon, OU, MSU, etc. lose a game, because as long as they keep winning, no matter how unimpressively, they'll stay ranked ahead of everyone else.

Thank you football gods for the playoffs.

That was the thing about the old system. The gatekeepers did not want to admit they were wrong. It was a huge beauty contest. I am sure there will be several deserving teams every year that will be left out, but as long as they go by what happened that season, and not because of the name on the front of the jersey,(this poll is a perfect example of that bias) I will be o.k. with it.

No they werent.

I think they were pretty bad on offense. They had around 350 total yards of offense. I actually don't think they could beat any other team in the top 15.

Every ranked school in the SEC would truck them.

Why....you idiots are the ones saying that aTm is the best team in the nation because they beat a shell of a defense.

Who said that?

not really. i mean these kids are 18 years old. a plane flight doesnt bother them. that's just something people on tv like to bring up when a west/east coast team travels across the country and struggles.

Whether or not VT beats them they are at least a 2 loss team. No way they get by Mich St or Michigan.

VT has a very good chance to beat them.

UCLA sure. LSU beat a top 15 team in a neutral site. There are a lot more schools that A&M deserves to jump before LSU.

Agreed, but it isnt realistic for voters to drop someone like Ohio State from top-7 to behind the #21 team a week earlier after a win. Dropping the #13 team behind them is much more realistic.

Given that A&M "should" be in front of both, I'm complaining about the realistic option.

No. Under the old system if an SEC team won the SEC Championship it was (almost?) an automatic bid into the national championship game. I love the new playoff system, but if UGA or any other SEC team wants into the final game win the division and all will be taken care of. No finger crossing required unless you start losing games.

I'm thinking I might have given out WAY too much information with this post.

True. And we suffer from the same. But we earned our reputation!

Not sure I agree with you on this one, but thanks. A&M looked unstoppable. Relentless. We will have to improve a lot to stay with you. I don't think our secondary would be able to hang with that passing attack you have. Hopefully we will improve, but we still have a way to go. Definite edge goes to A&M....but first we BOTH have to prove we are for real.

Alabam, Auburn, LASU have all done it recently. They deserve to be given the benefit of the doubt.(Although all three looked legit, to me)

LSU fans ragging on Bama need to look back to 2011 when LSU gave up over 500 total yards with 460 of those coming through the air vs WVU.

Lsu fans consider that one of their best defenses of all times. All we heard was LSU played a bend but don't break defense that game,,, guys what so did Bama.

Is Bama the 2 ND best team in the country, possibly, definitely has the talent to become that ranking.

From my post last Wednesday before USCe game:

USCe out of position way too often. RSJ & Speedy run wild in young secondary. CHECK

Ags running game is effective with cocks having a hard time making D adjustments Carson breaks into the secondary too many times and gashes Cocks with big runs. CHECK

Snyder dials up some pressure and we get to Dylan. Dylan gets shaken up and does not finish the game. PARTIAL CHECK - HE was pressured but finished game.

Spurrier throws hat down 4 times. Not sure, saw him throw everything including headset.

Ags jump to 14th in polls. Missed it by 1 spot.

GIGEM.

All due respect...I don't know if you played at any level, but any time you change the day you play on or drastically change the time of the game it makes a difference. It just feels....different. It throws off preparation more than anything.
